It's
Quilt Market season at the studio. We're in a bi-annual bustle to prep
for the show. Today, I met with another local stitcher who will be
helping out with samples. I'm skirting around that misleading 'sewer'
word. I think we just need to come up with a new spelling. Same word,
new spelling: sewwer, sewur, sew-er, sew-erer, sewurr, seweur
(french-ish)…
What a fun afternoon. Fun I have no business having. Fun I have no business without.
I was up with the baby till 4am last night, nursing him through a
105º fever. I finally climbed into the tub and poured water over his
back while he slept against my shoulder. It was so sweet. But, man am I
tired!
It's 7pm now on Friday night and it feels like my day is just getting
going. I don't think date night is gonna happen unless Isaac wants to
help refine pattern covers, book flights, schedule meetings, or sew.
** I let the baby pick a photo and title this post for me. **

Oh heather- I hope you can get some sleep this weekend and that the little one is feeling better soon. Seems something is going around 🙁
Wow, that’s a high fever….scary. Glad he is doing better, so glad you were able to keep him hydrated 🙂 I like the word “sewist”.
One thing I love so much about reading your posts is that I find them funny and sweet and very down to earth-ish. Did I mention creative and fun to read! Its very worth popping in! I look forward to seeing future posts on your Quilt market adventure!
wow… you’re a wonder-woman!
and maybe the baby will like another picture of an old orange van.

Brutal… the fever and the hours.
So sorry. I hope health is restored.
Also, excellent editorial choices on
baby’s part. The car is way intriguing.
I want to go to there!
It’s good to hear that he’s doing better!
I agree with you on “sewer”, I see “sewist” is used a lot these days, “needleworker”, “stitcher” and “seamstress” also come to mind.
The latter is a bit old fashioned and gender spesific – how about “seamer”? It looks like that is allowed: http://www.thefreedictionary.com/seamer
Ooo, I like seamer. It sounds like an victorian gentleman’s name. Like Seymore, I guess.
Thanks, Tamara. That means a lot to me. It’s hard to fit everything in, but I love being in touch through my blog. I’m glad you’re stopping by to check in. I appreciate you.
I love it!
Too funny. I began researching VW buses last month — I got pretty serious about that fantasy. When I told my husband that I would learn the mechanics and consider it the “family scooter” for local, short drives, not long-distance or freeway driving, he got into it too. Might just happen one day. Do you have a vintage van thing too?
This van was parked outside The Icehouse in Phoenix. I think it belongs to the building’s owner. (Posted about the Icehouse recently.) He had all sorts of funky things going on on his property.
Thanks, Sarah. He’s in tip-top shape again now. Thank goodness!
Heather, you’re a doll. Thanks for your help this month. I’m excited to finally have met you face-to-face!
Neat!
How cool would it be to drive around in that… restored, sweetly painted, and the interior ready for road trip crafting and sewing!?
Cannot wait to see what you’ve been up to in the fabric department Miss Heather xxx
If I ever get around it, you’re invited for a crafty campout.
Yes! Excited.
So sorry to hear he was so sick – and with such a high fever! So scary! If you ever need help with a project let me know! I know I’m further away – but willing! -kg
Hope the kid is fine now. Good luck to you.
