Pincushionsverthb

Quiltsandmorecover07flatLooking for a sewing pick-me-up?  How about a new pincushion.  The new Summer 2007 issue of Quilts and More sports a pincushion pattern written by moi.  Aren’t they cute?  And so simple.

They also did a feature on me.  Blush, blush. They asked fun questions, like "What’s on your iPod?" and "What’s your ideal day?"  A very comfortable interview.

Yes, there have been all sorts of ‘secret’ projects I haven’t been able to share.  So, I’ve got to make a big splash of them once they come out of hiding, like this pattern.  Hence, the parade of photos.  See, I’ve been doing stuff.

So, go get my little pattern and cover the world in pincushions.  They make great presents too.

Ha!

Oh ya:  Local folks (Arizona), I’m going to be on TV tomorrow — Sonoran Living.  I think it’s on ABC — sometime in the morning.  It’ll be live ; )

  9. I *KNEW* I should have picked that one up when I saw it on Saturday. Hmnnph. Ok, back to the quilt store tomorrow (oh no, don’t make me go in there said breir rabbit!). Now, if their order of Fresh Cut would just come in…patience is not known to be my name.

  10. Congratulations!
I love that magazine and just made a bunch of stuff from the Spring Issue. I’m also really into pincushions at the moment, so I’m definitely picking up a copy.

Sometimes I hate to live in Spain, so i can’t buy this magazine, and i’m looking where to buy your fabrics.
    The photos are wonderful too.

  12. Sweet! Adorable project and yes, those would be fab gifts – I think I might just have to make a special trip to B&N today.
I wish I could see you on T.V. but I live in Michigan. You’ll have to tell us all about it – how exciting!

  13. I bought a copy of Quilts and More on Saturday and was so excited to see both the interview and the pincushion project. I think you have so much talent –even your photos are published! One of my local quilt shops got in some of your fabric– I bought some of each, of course–and I let them know how great it was that they had Heather’s fabric (and about time too). Congratulations on all your acomplishments!

  14. Wow – that is greate.
The pattern is perfect for the leftover fabrics. I have still not made my daughters dress, but when I have I could make some of those pincushions.

  15. Gotta run out and get that mag! I received my half yard cuts of FreshCut yesterday – only 24 of them, but they are the yummiest!

  16. Heather, your Pincushions (cute as!) made me think of some early sewing memories…
My first sewing projects were pincushions and lavender bags….. the early ones hand-sewn with huuuge stitches…… Before long I was making them on Mum’s Pfaff, and I even made one on my Grandmother’s pedal-powered Singer…… When I ressurected it recently, (to apply a little TLC and restore to working order) the pincushion was still tied on! Bless!
Thanks for making me think of that!

  19. Great article and project in Summer 2007! They also feature your fabric in their apron project in Spring 2007. (Shameless commerce plug- we’ve got both magazines on our site for $2, so get your Heather fix!)
Congrats on all the FreshCut sitings!

I’m a big fan of your work. 🙂

  22. A question: Anyone knows of a store that ships the mazagine internationally? I always use ebay but the magazine is not there. Thank you.

  23. I just bought the magazine JUST for your pincushion pattern. I HAD to have it.
LOVE it – Have a million projects in the works, but I’m starting this one as soon as I get back from vacation!
Keep the good stuff coming – if you can get a pattern for those adorable baby diapers – that would be awesome! They were gorgeous! (And I don’t even have a baby!!!)

  27. Help!!! Can’t find the magazine in Toronto and would love to have a copy of the pincushion pattern.
    Any ideas???

  28. Hi Heather, I would love to make these but living in Australia I can’t get the magazine anywhere! Any chance you could share the pattern in another way? Thanks!

  29. I am just now seeing this adorable pincushion and want to purchase the magazine. Unfortunatley, it seems to be sold out. Is there anyone willing to copy the magazine pages for me? I’m happy to reimburse your expenses.
    Thanks!

  30. Is there anywhere we can get the pincushion pattern??? The link above does not have any more of that magazine issue. Can you publish the pattern on your site now Heather??

  31. Oh my gosh. I was just wandering around the blog world and found yours. I bought this issue way back when just because I thought those pin cushions were so darn cute. Made one to match my laundry room for all of the pins they put in new shirt and one to match my sewing room. So much fun. Thanks.
