… and am thoroughly enjoying my kids and cleaning. I’ve been home
for almost two days and the house is almost back together from weeks of
mad activity. I even slipped away to the doctor’s today for an x-ray.
Remember
the flower arrangement incident at Quilt Market? My foot has developed
a knobbily spot near the wound and the area occasionally sports a new
bruise with no obvious cause, making me think my foot just might have
broken that day. It doesn’t hurt to walk or run, but I am sensitive to
shoes that put pressure on the top of my foot. I had a peek at the
x-ray and didn’t see anything obviously amiss, but am pleased to have
enough breathing room to no longer neglect the mystery. I should hear
back in a few days if there are any problems. I’ll report.
Oh, and my finger is infected. So strange. No cause. It’s swollen
up and throbbing like a cartoon injury. I picked up some antibiotics
and am planning a few sleep-ins. My recently over-worked self is ready
for some good TLC. Maybe I’ll even cash-in the gift certificate for a
professional masseuse that I received a couple of Mother’s Days ago.
I have lots to share. Lots. So, I’ll pop in more frequently the
next while and try to catch up a bit. I took photos here and there
over the last couple of weeks, but couldn’t eek out the time to post.
For instance, here’s that fabric, trimmed, folded and ready to kit.
That was a job.
I’m happy it’s done and am glad to be back.

Heather, I hope you are okay with your foot and all. I am glad you are back. It is nice to have a few days off huh? GO get that massage girl! I wish I had a certificate! HEE HEE HEE! Have a great day and I will chat with you soon!
OH NO!!! While I didn’t mash your foot myself, I’m feeling slightly guilty as it was my idea for the pictures. I guess you are welcome to push a wall on me in Houston. 🙂
Glad to see you back, I’ve missed the prettiness.
Sandi
Happy you’re back too! Hope your foot AND finger heal well and quickly. I cannot wait to get my hands on some of your fabrics for my own quilt! (I don’t get to make it until I finish 2 for my boys.)
take care of that foot and that finger, seems like we’re always last on our list as moms, so your plan for sleep-ins and a massage are perfect!
Oh gosh! I hope you are feeling all better very soon!
I love looking at those beautiful fabrics and I can not wait to get a peak at all those patterns. Yay!!
Hugs and Hugs!
Oh Heather I sure hope your foot and hand have a speedy healing time!! A massage, TLC & rest sound like a very smart idea 😉
As a mom also, I sometimes forget I can’t take care of everyone else around here if I don’t take of myself first !!!
With warmest wishes,
Mary

i cannot get over all the
stacks of fabric in that
basket…what a job that
must have been!
Hi Heather. I have also never commented here though visited often. You are such and inspiration. I got my fabric addiction from my grandmother and spent alot of time with her in her sewing room which she called “the sugar shop” I was delighted to see your sugar shop and called my mom to go online and check it out. I have recently joined your FC & fabulouse group.Fun! Thanks for creating such beautiful things and giving inspiration to so many. I can’t wait for your new line and patterns!
Beautiful Blog! Can’t wait to see what you make from the fabrics too.
I myself have a fractured foot in two places, so I know what you are going through besides chasing around my boys!
I hope you’ll feel better soon and that you heal quickly. It sounds like you need some rest. 🙂
Awww Heather! I hope your poor foot is better. I was carring a box of alterations down just a few stairs and tumbled not too long ago. The same thing happened to my foot that your describing. I wore flip flops forever it seemed. And your finger- I wonder what happened with that? Regardless, I hope you get to feeling better and you get well rested. I can’t wait to see some of your goodies!!
I think this is my 1st comment here…anyhoo, I hope your finger and foot get to feeling better. :o)
I just have to say, “thoroughly enjoying cleaning”?? Ick! LOL!
Precisely. It’s amazing how fun cleaning can be when it represents a change of pace. Of course, the feeling never lasts long.
So glad you’re back and I can’t wait to see everything you’ve been doing. But first, get rested, get healed, get massaged and anything else you need.
Best wishes for all these things & more,
Joan
Hi Heather,
It is lovely to see you are getting some time out wirh your family and to recover. I love hearing about what you are up to – so creative and interesting compared to juggling corporate life with a family. Hope you feel better soon.
Rachel
Get well soon, Heather!
the mysterious finger swelling might be a spider bite.
Glad to hear you’re back and can’t wait for details to come. Oh and may I say…Yum?
just got some fabric from a link to ms. elinor, love it. Good luck with the good fight wounds, got my first one last month.
be well! sleep well!
Glad you are back. Take a breather, take a break, and enjoy your success!
As a massage therpist I’m all for you using that gift cert. before it expires! Everyone should be massaged as often as they can steal the time away. And oh dear about your foot and finger…definitly a time to slow down and enjoy the grass growing.
So glad your back Heather – I really missed you! Take care of yourself, when you are so busy your immune system shuts down and those niggles you ignore come back full force! Relax and look forward to hearing more from you when you are well.
You should totally go and get your massage! You deserve it!
Jill
You should totally use the certificate, what a treat!!
Happy cleaning!
Amelia
Hey I saw you in Quilts and More!! How neat! I said to myself “hey I know her… well I read her blog… ok so I’ve seen her before”
Congratulations.
p.s. i also shared your quilt-binding tutorial with the quilting community on livejournal and a lot of people found it really helpful. i am an aspiring quiltmaker.
Hi Heather, I’m Monica, Miles’s wife? he told me you and Isaac met him in Vegas at Cosmoprof and had a lovely chat!
Anyway, just wanted to say hi. Sorry to hear about your foot and finger… maybe some rest is just what you need.
take care,
M
feel better soon. sending you lots of positive energy~~~~~~~~
Love to have a new post, but I know how full days can get, so please rest and heal, so we can look forward to more from you later!
Take care of that finger! I just made little shoes for my baby-to-be with your free pattern, thank you so much they turned out so cute!
I hope you get to feeling better soon. I love your work and I am totally holding my breath for the trash ties. They look like so much fun on the website and I can’t wait to figure out how many different ways I can do my hair with them!
Thanks for being such an inspiration!
Kat
I hope you figure out the foot problem soon. Sounds like a real drag! Hard to wear cute summery shoes with a bum foot!
Considering doing a Fresh Cut Fabric give-away contest anytime soon????????? I live in the sticks and can’t buy your entire collection unless I travel or buy online. I would absolutely swoon, faint, keel over, die . . . oh, you get the idea! . . . if I had my hands on a fat quarter of all of your fabric!! 🙂
