Well, here it is. This is where I spend my days, The Sugar Shop.

I picked up the bookshelf at a local antique store for $150. It was poorly white-washed, with gobs of butter-yellow paint slathered on the details. Isaac re-finished it for me and built the base for it to rest on. Yep, that’s right. He built that footed, four-door cabinet-base up there. It now has a gently-distressed cream finish — far better.
I store my art supplies, sewing notions and wool felt in there. The yellow boxes above hold less-frequently-used items, like velcro and grommets, linoleum blocks for stamp- carving, elastic and cording.

In fact, I have Isaac to thank for most of the other furniture as well. He not only built the cabinet, but the computer table, sewing tabletop and shelves as well. And, of course, there’s the green chandelier and the turquoise mirror you know all about.
The pink walls are subtley mottled with bit of cream and a splash of funky metallic gold here and there. The large frame resting on the ribbon shelf is decorated with Isaac’s grandmother’s old sewing notions, and it’s covered — a fun piece to study.
A row of red-lidded jars above the computer table houses most of my ribbons. And my buttons and whatnots are tucked away in the happy green drawers on my sewing table.
The tall green work-island has a ton of storage, with cabinets and drawers on each side. I brought this piece home last summer as a solution to The Shuffle Kerfuffle. I store my sketchbooks and rulers in one drawer and keep the other drawers sacred for quick clean-ups. (Translation: they’re messy-full of random un-finished projects.) These cabinets contain art papers, zippers, vintage linens, interfacings, unfinished quilt-tops and stationery.
Toss a few of my favorite things into the room, and I’m right at home: pink floral pitcher, tacky 70s apple tin, vintage red floral trays, crocheted monkey, ornate cookie tins, photos of my babies. Are you playing I Spy yet? Let’s see, what else: pink toy sewing machine, antique wooden spools, gold velvet chair and a tissue-paper corsage from my son. My studio.

oh it’s so beautiful Heather!! I wish I had a space half as inspiring and tranquil. It’s soft, but not cutesy, it’s pleasant, it’s relaxing but not sleepy…I just feel so inspired by the colors, the ‘feel’…it’s lovely! No wonder you are so creative 😉
Delurking to gasp in awe and wonder. What a beautiful space.
K.
That is the prettiest studio I have ever seen. Each picture is more inspiring than the previous. My goodness ~ I’m having serious studio envy.
Its beautiful Heather, just like you. I want to come & play, as mine is still in reorganization/painting/ building mode currently. But thank God for the handy husbands! Yay, Isaac!
xo,AM
WOW!!! This has got to be THE most beautiful studio. You are so lucky and I am so jealous! I have been checking your blog daily for these photos and they are so lovely.
BTW I just discoverd your blog a few weeks back and this is my first comment. I love your style and your writing. Thank you for such an inspirational blog!
Well, I feel like I’ve just been through a magazine article without paying the cover price. Wow. I want to work there.
If you spot a puddle or two as you lead us through our little tour, its just drool. Because I’m drooling. I’ll be sure to clean up after myself before I leave… but I don’t ever want to leave.
That’s the best room in the history of best rooms. Can I live in it? I’ll sleep in one of the cupboards. 😀

Wow, so beautiful! I am deeply jealous and in awe of your studio!
i am just blown away…gorgeous, colors are so fab, the chair & chadelier are to die for, but…what is the pattern on the too-cool pink purse….love it!!!
Love it! I am currently working on my studio now. Thanks for some great ideas.
This is so gorgeous – I’m so jelous!!! And I love your green table. That is so amazing. And question: Do you have to buy your fabric or do you get it free since you designed it? I’ve been wanting to know…
You have my dream studio, super jealous but in a good vibe sort of way!!!
It’s beautiful. I expect no less from you!
How beautiful. I’m moving in!
What a fantastic studio! I think it’s such a blessing to have things your husband has built for you in such a dream of a place. After viewing your pictures, the word that is paramount in my mind is “delectable!”
I absolutley love that studio..that is my dream place:) Did youmake those purses?? Love those too.
Sugar Shop indeed.
SWEEEEET.
Oh …YUM! Thats all I can think of when i look at such a studio. It reminds me of all the gorgeous colours in an ice cream shop!
So beautiful…
*sigh*. You’ve given me lots to daydream over!
Okay, so now I have Sugar Shop diabetes, and I just don’t care. It’s like some parallel universe, but instead of being insanely jealous I’m just so glad someone gets to live the dream.
absolutely stunning! enjoy your new studio. you deserve every cute piece of it.
Simply GEORGEOUS, Heather!!!!!!!!!!!
Just gorgeous!
OMG! That is the most gorgeous room I have ever seen. I am absolutely green with envy.
wow
I have been trying to design a craft space in my head before I tackle the project…you have given me lots of ideas!! Love your space. Did you make the purses? And, do you sell the pattern?
You’re my hero. I wish I was you. Or at least that that was my room. 🙂
Wow, it’s just PERFECT.
Oh my the jealousy I feel right now looking at your beautiful studio. It’s so gorgeous!
Soooo inspiring. Thank you for showing it to us. It’s really helped me place myself in my own future studio.
Happy creating in your beautiful space.
You have GOT to be kidding me! Wow, wow, double-wow! This is the most beautiful studio I’ve ever seen. And to be so organized! It must feel amazing. Thank you for being so inspirational.
it’s like a fairy tale studio. Love it!
Thank you for sharing your adorable studio with us! It’s really lovely!
I love your studio! Considering the fact that I work from the dining room table I would think I dropped dead and landed in heaven in your space. Simply beautiful!
it’s no wonder you come up with such wonderful ideas. with a studio like that it is easy to see how you get inspired. totally jealous!
Liz
Oh yes, I am drooling!!!
Wow, what an amazing room. I would never put all of that together, you did a fantastic job! I think the mirror is my favorite part…and the green island, that is awesome.
it’s absolutely georgous!!!thanks for sharing.
Absolutely beautiful! I can’t imagine a more idyllic and gorgeous room to create in.
OH MY GOODNESS! It looks like a boutique not an office/workspace. Great job, it is beyond lovely.
hi heather, this is a gorgeous studio! i’m super envious!! you did a fabulous job with the space and i’m sure you’ll find loads of inspiration there.
love your work.
It’s beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing. What a wonderful space to create in.
Oh, you are teasing us with that purse again! Please, please let us know when you think you will be able to sell that pattern. Pretty please!
Breath taking, seriously, just breath taking!
Wow.So very nice!
Heather,
This is all just… LOVELY.
g.
UN BE LIEVABLE!!!
*so envious*
I think I just fainted. Wow. Just wow.
That room is so dreamy! You have no idea how much this room has inspired me to spruce up my own sewing room. In fact I now call it my “studio” because “sewing room” is so beneath it now! Thank you!!
Oh MAN what a drop dead GORGEOUS studio space!!! No wonder you create the most glorious designs! I think I am actually drooling. :o)
Wow Heather….you sure know how to put things together. :o)
I am wondering what someone else already asked….do you sell the pattern to the purses?
I am currently making a pattern to make the purses for my home business…if you already have one for sale I would buy it instead of making my own. LOL!
Thanks for the virtual tour…I have one of those husbands who builds things like your stuff too.
I dream it up and he builds it. :o)
No WAY!
it’s absolutely divine, heather. you have a super-sweet husband. 🙂
you lie. that is not a studio. that is a store. a boutique somewhere in san francisco. or a set for a tv show.
so jealous.
Oh my goodness! That’s just the most beautiful studio I’ve ever seen. I’m so jealous, yet inspired at the same time. It makes me think that once I’ve organized my own studio that I should really think about how it’s decorated as well. Thank you for the gorgeous pictures. 🙂 (We missed your MIL at the show this past weekend.)
Take my breath away beautiful, that’s what this is. You are so talented…you design, sew, decorate, organize with the BEST of them…is there anything you don’t do?! I do have a question that I’m so hoping you will share: Please, please share your trick to folding your fabric so nicely. Everything looks to be in such tidy folded stacks…there has got to be some magic that I don’t know about. I would love for you to share your insight!
Your studio is beautiful! I’m so inspired, thank you!
So beautiful! And organized… Impressive!
When I grow up I want o have a studio like yours!! Its so lovely and bright.
Incredible! Really! Love it to pieces. Definitely eye candy.
Susan
I would kill to have such a nivce, organised tidy studio !!!
oh my god…did someone say studio envy already!!! arghhhhh, why am I still sewing on the dining room table and fishing through many, many boxes stashed in all the closets throughout my home!!!! I need a studio just like this one! It’s absolutely to die for!!! Thanks for sharing.
Wonderful…
HI!
I know that envy is a bad feeling but this is what I’m feeling now!!! But it’s in a good way! Soooooo beautiful! Love it… it’s a world in there and I want a world like that too!!!
bye, manela
So beautiful Heather ! A wonderful place to spend hours and hours… I dream of a place like this just for me. You are very talented and I never miss yours posts.
I LOVE it!!!! So beautiful!
Drools! What a beautiful environment! I am going to show my husband your photos and tell him that’s what I want. I can’t wait til we have a garage so I can break out my wood working tools again.
Wow beautiful work space … Inspiration to continue to work on my own!
I love it Heather! It’s so beautiful. Green with envy here.
Wow, he built that!? You lucky girl. Gorgeous studio! I’m so envious!
If you were my best friend, as an englishwoman I would be forced to call you the B word, with the biggest smile ever! But do not be offended, I am just shocked at the awasomeness of it, it is beautiful, you are amazing, I just asked my Fiance if I could have one just like it built onto the house then he reminded me it would cost about $250,000 to do it! Um so I will have to wait until I get rich I think!!!!
Heather-
It looks like heaven!! Really though! It does! Can I come over and steal your craft space?
Isaac is such a handyman!! I have been trying to get my Johnny to build a cabinet for my fabrics and other randoms…. but he has not got to it yet and I’m starting to wonder if I should just buy something.
But it’s so precious! I’m sure now your going to have people knocking at your doors to get in there 😀
xoxo,
Jenna Lou
ps. Thanks for stopping by and sharing! Your words were comforting.
gorgeous! i want to live in your studio!!!
Wow – what a beautiful space! Like many others, I work on my dining room table and haul my bins of stuff in and out of closets.
Thanks for sharing!
So beautiful! The walls of your studio are a similar color to my dining room. My weaving room walls are plain white so as not to influence how I see the colors of the yarn…kind of boring, but the shelves full of yarn give me my color fix.
My first reaction was “shut up.” Wow, Heather, what an AMAZING space. It is so beautiful and inspiring and just lovely. I am over here drooling!!
WOW! *fell off my chair with awe*
Please please, consider writing a book for all us dumbnuts who cannot figure out how to organize our creative spaces as beautifully as yours.
se parece al lugar donde habitan las hadas.
(it looks like fairyland).
Very nicely done. It is beautiful A nice place to work.
sunshine
OH MY GOSH!
The magazines must be lining up to get your studio featured on an upcoming issue!!
Love every single detail!!
I want a studio like this!
Okay, I’m just echoing everyone else, but this is so fabulous! It makes me happy just looking at it. 🙂
Talk about an ideal workplace! Love the colors and storage ideas. Everything looks peaceful and energetic at the same time, an ideal place to create. It makes me want a sewing/craft room all the more — but I have to wait til one of my kids moves out. 😀
Coming out of lurkdom to finally say WOW! I just want to come be in it for an hour. OK, truthfully, I want it for myself, but I’d settle for an hour in it. It’s beautiful. You’re incredibly lucky to have an Isaac AND an elinor. But you didn’t say where you found the wonderful green work table. I’m terribly curious.
OH MY GOODNESS! Amazing! I predict a magazine photo shoot ala Alicia over at Posie Gets Cozy in the near future. You and your husband must be so proud of what you’ve created!
I don’t know what to say that is different from all the other comments, it looks absolutely beautiful Heather, truly gorgeous. Sigh. It puts my studio to shame 🙁
de-lurking to echo everyone else’s sentiments.
wow!!!!!!!
not only am i completely envious of this space, i’m wondering if you ever considered becoming an interior designer?
happy creating!
This is the first time I leave a comment, but I have been reading your blog for a while. This must be the most beautiful studio ever! You and your husband are so talented.
Heather! This is perfect! Ummm, where do you guys find the time to do everything you do? Amazing.
You are very blessed to have such a wonderful and inspiring place in which to work. I am glad you mentioned you have junk drawers. Everything looks so perfect. Congrats on your new space.
Another delurker gasping and drooling. What an absolutely fabulous place to create. It rivals the spaces in the “Where Women Create” Book. Really, you need to be in “Where Women Create II” should it be in the works…
how cool is this? great!
Ahhhhhh, Absolutely Beautiful…note to self: I wanna be just like Heather Bailey when I grow up!!!!!
A studio needs to inspire and aspire! Yours definitely does it and then some! Congratulations on a wonderful space! Thank you so much for sharing!
Magnifique! I dream of having such a lovely and well organized creative space. And bravo to Isaac for building that lovely cabinet.
Gorgeous!
This should be in a magazine. I’d email it to Mary Engelbreit and see if she wants to feature you in her artist’s studio section.
I can’t believe your husband built all of that stuff. Y’all are talented!
E
Well colour me green 🙂
What a haven. I can only imagine what the rest of your house looks like. Thanks for sharing.
That is exactly what I am looking for in a studio. It’s pretty, pink, girly, sweet, organized and has great lighting!
Thank you for sharing. I’m printing this off and placing it on my visualization board.
How lovely! It’s so warm and inviting and awfully pretty, but seems to be organized to help you work in the way you work best. What a fantastic studio.
Just fabulous!!
Thanks for Sharing!!
Séverine
Could I possibly be MORE envious? I think not. I’ve left this page open on my browser all morning in order to inspire myself to get off my duff and finish my own studio space. Love love love it!
Oh Heather, it is simply beautiful and so very inspiring! Great Job!
I’m breathless. It’s amazing!
What a terrific studio! Everything in it is just beautiful.
If I wasn’t longing for a studio of my own before, I sure am now.. what a wonderful place 🙂
Heather,
Your studio is gorgeous. You have given me some wonderful ideas. I love the colors. My challenge will be dealing with my fabric stash…totes filled with fabric are not that pretty and I have more than just a few. LOL
Quite a few years back, I had the joy of taking a class with your fun MIL when she taught at the American Embassy, Tokyo. We had a blast and I am looking forward to another class with her someday. My visions of her, help enliven my visions of your family. Thanks for sharing on your Blog.
Beautiful! I have been hankering to make my small closet space more inspiring and more me, and this has finally given me the kickstart I need. Thanks for the inspiration.
Thank you for sharing your studio. It is so beautiful–I just keep coming back and gazing at it. Perfectly lovely.

This is so stunning! I love it. Thank you for sharing.
Amazing…I would love to know the wall color. I just love it. I am inspired to really clean up my art room.
I don’t think I could say anything that hasn’t already been said. I’m with everyone, what a gorgeous space!! The only other thing I have to say is, “Hubby do I have some projects for you” 🙂
No way! This is going to be the springboard for some amazing design work in your future! I particularly like the green work island and also how you’ve managed to get it all in one space, including the computer. I see a book!!
This is adorable. I randomly stumbled upon your blog while searching for headband templates and saw this and couldn’t help but spread the link around. So cute! I also checked out the line that you will be releasing your own line through, and I work at a fabric store and recognized some of the fabrics off of that site in the store I work at, so that was fun to see. Great blog!
Oh my word…this is lovely…I am currently deciding how to decorate my workroom……this is gorgeous
wow! truely beautiful. love it!
When I look at my messy bedroom/sewing room/office I will imagine that I am here….. I saw your yummy fabrics on the cover of a BHG magazine today. How exciting!
Well, I can’t just lurk with pics like that! good gracious…what an amazing room. I have to go back and look again. I know you are enjoying yourself in there….and thinking up lots of great new stuff to show us.
I recently purchased some of your fabric and read your blog off and on…it all exudes happiness. While I have been in my studio for days trying to organize and make sense of things – one area for sewing, the other for art…..I came here and now? well let me just say it’s FULL of great ideas (although I do have the jars full of trims already). But now I’ve shown this to my husband with a BIG hint, hint! Thanks for the inspiration Heather AND the great fabric!!!
Absolutely stunning! How could you not spend every waking moment in there crafting away!! I love it.
Fabulous!!!!

The most GORGEOUS studio I’ve ever laid eyes on! Your eye for beautiful design is astounding Heather. WOW!! Thank you for sharing this.
Let me delurk and add to the gushing! It really, really does look like a magazine spread. As an organization geek, I love your storage ideas- neat and chic at the same time. Oh, and having drawers dedicated to “quick clean-ups”- genius.
Can I come live in your studio? Seriously that is amazing!!!!
OMG, Heather….my head is about to explode! Your studio is so delicious!!
I’m with everyone else – gorgeous space and no wonder you’re able to be so creative with a wonderful space like that to work in 🙂 Love all the colors, fabric and that bookcase is to die for !

How bizarre! The same comment as A Lim – I didn’t even see that! LOL!
Gasp! ..is it real..? I’d have that gorgeous room wrecked in 15 minutes. Wait, maybe not. I don’t know if I could bring myself to disturb the perfectly folded beauty. Just a little getaway, better than a deserted island paradise….
can i come live with you?! LOL! my studio is so incredibly boring…love yours!
Simply gorgeous, like lemonade on hot day. What a happy space. You are an artist in every sense of the word.
The sheer number of comments says it all–this room is unbelievably beautiful and envy-inducing! Thanks for all the explanations of what and where everything is. You inspire me to be more organized with my supplies.

This is the most incredible studio I have ever seen. I would never leave it!
I am MAJORLY impressed. Wow!
It’s absolutely beautiful!
It’s like Martha Stewart and the SWELL designers (i think Cynthia Rowley and Eilene Rosensweig or something like that) got together and designed the utter-most creative and inspired dream craft room. WOW!
I found your sight through Shannon at Rocksinmydryer. Glad she linked to you. I like your site.
Wow, this makes me really jealous. And it’s all so organized!
Feeling like a lost Brady looking up, way… way… way… up past 184 siblings in the “Brady frame”. (Is this how Oliver felt???). WOW… I’ve never seen so many comments before! Of course… your studio is knocking socks off around the world I’m sure!

My jealous is just so unbecoming. Gah.
My jealous is just so unbecoming. Gah.
My husband told me just this morning that we had to do something about my sewing room. It is bursting over with supplies. I have moved more fabric to my dining room. He is tired of looking at the dining room table and chairs with fabric. Therefore, he stated today after church, he would help me get my sewing room put back together and organized. I decided to go online to find some sort of ideas for organizing and found your very lovely sewing room. Thanks for posting it. My sewing room will not be as elegant as yours, but it has inspired me to get ride of my clutter. Thanks Heather!
lovely studio, mine’s not quite so glam!. my husband tripped in the loft and put his foot through the ceiling while we were decorating it, you can still see where the hole was!.
ps, is it ok to link to your blog from mine, to remind me of your fabrics?
I love it! It looks like a magazine put it together. I love all you do!
holy!!! it’s absolutely wonderful! 🙂
Absolute eye candy!!!

This is a beautiful studio , its a dream studio
Heather, This is a beautiful studio to work in… Never seen a brighter one before…
Do you mind if I ask you the name of the wall’s paint and the mirror’s paint!? They both are so fresh and beautiful!
Your studio is absolutely goregeous and the colors scrumpious!
I saw your studio on Flickr. What a beautiful and inspirational place to work in!! I love the colors you used.
Where is your ironing board in that beautiful room?
wow! so amazing! one day, I too will have a studio to call my own…in the meantime I will just create vicariously through yours!!!!
How amazing is your studio? Totally jealous!!!
Your workspace is beautiful…
this is the most beautiful covetous studio that i have ever laid eyes on. i love your work, your spirit, and your charm!
keep us inspired to create!
I’m in the process of creating my “room” as well. I had to favorite this because it is definitely an inspiration on how I want my room to end up like (only my room is twice as small). It’s so beautiful! I was just wondering if you could let me know where you got that tall green island table from? I love it! It’s so beautiful, I love the color and everything about it. Everything about you is inspirational :0) I love the charm and vintage feeling!
DROOOOOOOOOL. I’m in love. You are soooo lucky. I have a room to create and the thought was driving me crazeeee. but after seeing yours, I’m inspired.
Oh. My. I have a room that is just that size, too, and have the good fortune to have a husband who thought it would make a great craft room. Looks like I need to make a trip to the nearest thrift shop for jars and shelves!
Your studio is beautiful! I would love for mine to look just like that but— I have no idea I would be able to get anything done. I would be too afraid I would mess things up. Mine is so full and crowded that I can hardly walk through it but I do know where things are even if I can’t always get to them. Your decorating taste is perfect. It is bright and cheery!
This is scary! I am THIS far away from covet!
I’d love a great place away from my 5 sibs
(I’m 11 and crochet and bead)
hello,
my name is pauline and i live in France.
I would like to know where do you buy your textile?
thank you for your information
I found you by chance and am interested in talking with you reagarding a new product line…hmmm, I don’t know where you are located, we (my partners and I) are in the DC metro area…do you have an email that I can send you a note to?
Your studio is so GORGEOUS
“Props” to you for being able to be so creative and work your way to the top with your fabric line and abe able to raise 2 adorable kids!
This inspired me to design my sewing space into something beautiful!
OMG is all i can say IM so soo jealous! girl u got a great deal on those shelfs!!! must share where ya got them! hopefully texas haha winkwink! i hope one day my hubby will learn to do stuff like that!!! AWESOME surely a inspiration to me!
WOW!! What a beautiful place to be able to create in!! I am seriously coveting the space as I type . . . .

What a gorgeous room. I could only dream….
oh… my… god… I can’t believe my eyes. I’m 14, so I don’t have a studio, let alone enough cool fabric like the stuff you design to make 1 project. I want the studio you have. I am sooo insane over it! I will be contemplating this space for forever. I can’t think of anything I would change in there. This is amazing!
Let me rant some more: I don;t even have space to put my sewing machine. I am soooooo undeniable envious right now. I can’t wait until i have a room like this!
ultra girly!! 🙂
A fabulous place to be creative — Awesome!!
Wow…love it! Mine is just getting finished and I’m unpacking and wondering one thing: do your fabrics fade in the sunlight (or isn’t there a window on the opposite wall)? My studio has 2 windows and a sliding glass door, and I’m afraid to keep my fabrics out because of the fade-factor…any tips would be great!
I love your colors and funky-ness!
So lovely and inspiring. I adore your color scheme.

You caused me to renew my subscription to Home Companion (HC). I love the clothing you made for the kids. Beautiful fabrics. And your Studio…. Ai, Ai, Ai. I have been going back to your pages in HC almost every day. Wish we were neighbours, we could visit together and share ideas. You are an inspiration, and that it is okay to be conservative and nutty! keep up the good work Girl.

Don’t you just looooove those handy hubbies.
I loved your article in the HC. I read it over and over. You inspired me. But, how do you keep everything so organized and tidy and do everything in and around the housewith two kids? You must be a super multitasker. Keep up the good work and inspire us all!

Hi~Very beautiful room you have! Where can one get your paper line? Thanks
this is one of the most wonderful craft rooms i’ve ever seen!
what a gorgeous space i have a big space for stuff like you do but it certainly doesn’t look anything like yours. soooo pretty. love it.
You have created my dream studio! Come to my house and decorate for me!!
The Sugar Shop is such a fitting name because I just want to devour everything in there! It’s so cute and appetising to the eyes. Like a kid in a candy store!
So so beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!
Dear Heather,
Your lovely studio is a treat for the eyes-so much so that we are using it as an inspiration for my 16 year old daughter’s room. I am wondering if you have shared the wall color in a post somewhere-we have gone through a number of pinks and can’t seem to find one that is quite right. I would be very grateful if you could share it with me-or give me any other suggestions. I love your blog and am overwhelmed by all of your creative ideas. Thank you, Betsy
Unbelivable cute studio! I’d love to spend every day there. 🙂 You’re lucky.
Heather.
I love, love, love your studio! I noticed the island was a deep agua in the top picture but a mellow greenish sagey yellowy color in the bottom one. Did you paint it a different color for the second piture and if so what was the color, if I may ask?
You are so amazingly talented!
Thanks so much,
Beth
Wow, you studio is beautiful, full of a myriad of colours. Maybe I need to just splash a little paint around here!!!
What did Peter Pan say in the movie when he was looking for his shadow in Wendy Darling’s room? There you are! – Only I’M the shadow and YOU are Peter!
I came here to look for your paper globes project but got side-tracked by your fun site! I adore everything I see here and have also tried almost all the same creative outlets you have.
You sound like how I want to be but I’m too tired, worn out, and timid to show it.
THANK YOU FOR BEING THE PERSON I’D LOVE TO BE! And in the meantime I will be quite satisfied with who I am and what I CAN do (card making, scrapbooking, quilt making [my favorite is to find vintage quilt blocks or tops and finish them for the project beginner], taking care of my home and family (6 grown kids with their families and a hard working sweetheart of 34 years who works 250 miles away), and holding paper crafting classes monthly in my home.
Yes, I’ll be quite satisfied knowing you are there to share your creative passion with the world.
I’ll be coming back to your site often. Thank you for sharing YOU!
Janette from Albany, OR
Oh My GOODNESS! I am so inspired …must… go…CREATE.
(but I will definitely be back ;-D )
Wow! How can you NOT get inspired to be creative in that beautiful room?! 🙂
Stunning!
Do stop by my blog sometime & say hello!

This is the most stylish studio I have ever seen! You must love going to work.
I was inspired by your awesome craft room. My room is nowhere near as nice as yours but it was a truly ugly basement space before I looked at your room. My hubby is wonderful but building is not his forte. I haven’t finished it yet but still love creating in it. I used my old dresser set which I am going to paint oxidized green or white. What do you think?
The cans with the birds were really reasonable,on sale at Michael’s as were the pink fabric boxes from TJ Maxx. The paint is in a baby sock box which looks nice and colorful. The curtains cover all my ugly stuff. They are shower curtains also from TJ Maxx. Shower curtains are larger than normal curtains so you get a lot more coverage for a lot less $$. TFL and thanks much for the inspiration. Your artwork is absolutely gorgeous.

Heather, your studio is so cute! I’m wondering where you got that little blue cabinet and if there is an actual name for it. It’s so adorable and I would love to find one for my small studio. Any information would be helpful. Thank you!

Great work space! The fabric stacks look so tempting…that whole room is heavenly!
Your studio is gorgeous! I wish my play area looks that organized.
What an amazing studio! I love the light and the colors ;D.
Have a colorful week!

No comments on this gorgeous room since 2007!!! I can’t believe that! I am going to dare ask you to link up this beauty for Roomspiration: Craft Rooms, PLEASE? It would totally make my day! http://blog.familybringsjoy.com/2011/09/21/dreams-do-come-true-my-craft-room/
Thank you Heather!
Hi Shan — I think you missed the other pages of comments. There is a teensy set of arrows at the bottom of the comments page that will navigate you through the newer comments. Thanks for the link to your Roomspiration post. It’s fun to see so many great rooms all in one place. xo-Heather
Thank you so much Heather!!!! You made my day! Seriously! Ooops about the arrows on the newer comments. I should have known! 😉 Well, you certainly will be receiving LOTS more now! I just LOVE the colorful and intricate woodworking with the splash of femininity throughout. Not sure if I could do much crafting in there…I would be too distracted from just enjoying the view! It is simply gorgeous! Thanks a million for gracing Roomspiration with your presence. 😀 Smiles all around!
I love your studio. The colors are soft and yet cheerful and uplifting. I also like the window right at the sewing machine. And most important your fabric and ribbons are visible, which in itself is inspiring and helpful in designing, but also a good thing before venturing out to buy fabrics. Simply beautiful, well thought out plan.
What a precious space to work in!
Wow! This is such an inspirational workshop! Fantastic job!
what a great room, i finaly have a sewing room, some days i never make back to my original plans. just to much fun playing in my own space.
You are so talented Heather. I love your Sugar Shop! Props to your hubby – that bookcase is to die for!! Its one of the first things I noticed when my friend pinned your room on Pinterest.
Just beautiful… I can only dream! my work room is a computer room, slash, old bedroom from my oldest son, dotted with his sport/team pictures, and my sewing area and table pushed into one side of the room, with oh yeah, a bed too! too much stuff to get creative in.
I love the color of the picture frame.
I have a large mirror that I want to paint turquoise and gold. Can you explain the technique you used for your mirror?
I am on a super high just looking at your studio. You have given me so many ideas on how to redo my office and craft room. I’ve already purchased several of your fabrics and can’t wait to “put them to beautiful work”.
you have inspired me. I moved 3 times in 5 years, previously I had pretty, well-organized space, although not as pretty as yours. over the last 3 moves I acquired some beautifull pieces to put together a sewing studio. the fabric is organized, but beyond that the antique desk is unfinished. everything is in bins, piles, ,cant find anything, the shelves I need and my artwork are leaning against a wall waiting. I have tried a few projects in there but have not regained my creative stride. now I know why.i need to finish the space first. maybe I will send you a before and after
