  • Giveaway Day 24 — Mary!

    Day24_HELLOgiveawayBanner

    Day24_MaryEngelbreit1F

I have been a long-time fan of Mary Engelbreit.
When I was a kid, there was a sticker and stationery store at the
nearby mall. It was my favorite stop. The one day I was allowed to
choose any sticker from the sticker wall, I went home with a 2.5" circle
sticker designed by Mary. It featured a girl in a wide straw hat with
glasses and bobbed hair, the classic Mary character. It was signed "ME"
    at the bottom.

    Day24_MaryEngelbreit2b

I didn't know who "ME" was at the time. But as I discovered "ME" on
more and more products, I connected the dots, asked around, and learned
that "ME" was the delightful, talented and prolific Mary Engelbreit.

MaryEngelbreitPortrait300jpgHer perspective and aesthetic have withstood the test of time. For decades now,
    Mary's
artwork has adorned millions of greeting cards and everything from
calendars and best-selling children's books to gifts, crafts and home
    accents.

About six years ago, I had the privilege to work with Mary's team at Mary Engelbreit's Home Companion magazine on the cover-story for the April/May 2008 issue. Such a great magazine.

In fact, Mary unknowingly connected me with one of my good friends.
When I put a general call out for help on the Home Companion photoshoot,
    Jona
volunteered. This is how we first met. I later learned that she was an
uber Mary-Engelbreit fan and had counted her lucky stars for the
opportunity to come to the shoot. She had collected every single issue
of Mary's magazine, except for the first issue.

    MaryatQuiltMarketThrough
the magazine's editors, Barbara and Kathy, I was able to set Jona up
with a signed copy of that first issue—to complete her collection.

I have yet to meet Mary in person. She was at Quilt Market a year or so
ago, but I couldn't get free to wait in the enormous line of fans eager
to shake her hand. This woman is popular! I have been delighted to get to know her through Instagram though, of all places. And I look forward meeting her one day.

Though I am sure she has weathered every storm and sunny day an
art-licensing business brings with it, Mary has maintained a joyful and
engaging point of view—a sweet, humorous and uplifting spirit that
    continues to win fans worldwide.

    Day24_MaryEngelbreit3

I'm honored to announce that Mary herself is offering today's giveaway prize—a big box of Mary Engelbreit calendars for 2014. Calendars of every shape and size. A $90 value.

Keep up with Mary on her EngelBlog—and on facebook, instagram and pinterest as well. Shop her amazing variety of products online at MaryEngelbreit.com or at retailers virtually everywhere.

    Giveaway Day 18

    Day18_HELLOgiveawayBanner

We went out for my birthday on Friday night for Thai food and a movie
with my siblings and their spouses, and my dad. It was
great to get together after we were all scattered this way and that for
the summer. And just the kind of birthday party I like—easy and low-key.
I'm so glad they all could come along. If you ever visit Tempe, AZ, Yupha's Thai Kitchen is the place to eat.

Of course, this year wasn't a 'big-deal' birthday. When the next one of those
comes along, I'd like a Disco Dance Party with wigs required—nothing
    mellow.

    Day18_Blog_KarenBag5

This giveaway circus is keeping me plenty anesthetized from any potential
birthday blues. It's quite a project behind the scenes to make sure
everything is reported accurately and the winners are chosen fairly.
(Random number generator, after duplicates and late entries are
    subtracted.)

I hope you're having as much fun as I am. I feel like
a game show host at this point, "Step on down, take a spin, survey says
    — you win." I need fine, feathered 70's hair and a sparkly dress.

As soon as today's giveaway post goes up, I'll get to work drawing
winners for the last few giveaways. Expect those updates by midday
    tomorrow.

And remember that our Day 16 giveaway for a Cricut Expressions 2 electronic cutting machine ends at 11:59pm PST tonight. So, there's still time to enter.

    Day18_Blog_GiveawayContents

Without further ado, today's giveaway prize is a sewn book tote from FamLee Treasures, made with fabrics from my Garden District collection, as well as a Heather Bailey planner, a chevron note pad and a pack of personal stationery. A $73 value.

    FamLee Treasures
is my office manager Karen's Etsy business. Her adorable totes also
make perfect craft totes or church bags. Karen was excited to get
involved with our giveaway party—and it's her birthday this next week
too. That's another vote for Birthday Month. Happy Birthday, Karen!

Comment to enter. One entry per household. Be sure to include your email
    address
so we can contact you if you win. You don't have to type your email
address into the body of the comment if you entered it in the email-address
field on the comment form. Today's giveaway will close at NOON PST on Monday 8/19/13. Watch for the winner to
be announced early next week at the bottom
    of the post.

  • Win to Plan, Plan to Win

Ooo! I just received samples from my Project Life Olive Edition collection—like, five minutes ago: 12×12 papers, albums, month dividers and card kits. The fact that it was time to announce some giveaway winners gave me the perfect excuse to dig into the big box of journaling cards.

    WinnersT

So, I ask you, if "Happiness is winning!", then is losing sheer misery?
Or can we take happiness into our own hands and go get ourselves a
gosh-darn happy planner at Target and make everything okay again? Become
    a winner.

    CanvasPlannersWI'm
planning to do lots of giveaways this year—serious fun. But, announcing
winners always seems like a bit of a bummer for the non-selected—as
evidenced by the 'Giveaway Echo' that generally follows. I certainly
don't want to sadden the masses—even if this "Happiness is" card does
rub it in just a little bit 🙂

So, shatter the Giveaway Echo and leave a congrats for Tiffany Harvey, Claudia Miller, and Kristy from Hopeful Threads. Random.org was their friend today. Each will receive a canvas planner from my collection at Target stores now.

(Ladies, please email me your shipping addresses & we'll send
your planners out this week. If you prefer a particular cover design,
let me know—I'll try to accommodate your request.)

And congratulations to our three Instagram winners—posted earlier today on Instagram: @loveelainellc, @daniellewilkes, and @danielle_layla. It appears Danielle is the name to have.

P.S. There are still a few FREE pocket planners for the taking. Just
ask for one at order checkout and it's yours—while supplies last.
    Details here.

  • Heather Bailey Planners at Target Stores Now

So, guess what! I have a new collection of planners and calendars at
Target stores nationwide. True story. And they're gorgeous.

    I worked with Mead—the
company we all know for their awesome back-to-school supplies,
notebooks, office organization, etc. What a great company to work with.
    It's business love.

    Mead_HeatherBailey_PlannersT

If you’re getting organized for the new year, like I am, go get one
of my new planners. There are a number of different styles and sizes,
including prints and solids:  pocket planners, purse-sized Hbtargetplanners,
desk planners, wall calendars. Several of the designs have a full-month
view, followed by a week-by-week view—which is the bomb, as far as
    planners go.

(There is one design which makes a fantastic daily journal. I'll take more photos and show you what I mean.)

It’s months of work to put together a new collection like this. And then, BOOM!,
one day the news explodes in a post. Like fireworks.
Come to think of it, I started on this line before I was pregnant with
our baby and the collection hit stores more than a year after he was
born. In effect, birthing a new planner collection takes just about as
long as it does to gestate a baby elephant.

    EmbossedDaisy_HeatherBailey_5up

So, next time you’re at Target, go have a look. And while you’re in the
planner section, straighten up the area for me, will you? And tell
someone else in the aisle—“See this gal here, Heather Bailey, I know
her.” Then, go suggest to your friends that they need spiffy new
    planners too.

Thanks, friends. I’m getting fantastically caught-up on design work
which means there will be news erupting left and right around here.

To celebrate, let's do another giveaway. I have THREE undated
calendars for three lucky fans. Undated means they can be used for a
different year than 2013. It doesn't mean they're "Undateable." And you can use refills to keep these planners going after the current year is over. Leave a comment to enter the giveaway.

I also have TWO more planners to give away for you Instagrammers. Post about the Target collection or upload this image—AND include the hashtag #heatherbaileyplanner to enter. In fact, you can use any of these photos if you like. See my Instagram page for a glimpse at the planners our Instagram winners will get to choose from (user name: @heatherbailey).

    CanvasPlanners_HeatherBailey

I also have SEVEN of these adorable pocket planners below to hand out. These go to the first seven guests to place an order at www.HeatherBaileyStore.com and SIMPLY ASK for one in their Order Comments at checkout.

    PocketCalendars_HeatherBaileyB

Giveaway winners will be determined sometime on Monday, January 28th. Good luck!
