Smatterday

NiceyJane

I've
had the best couple of days.  I got a ton done, which has made it more
fun to have fun, if you know what I mean.  Of course, my list of to-dos
is still longer than my leg, but such is life.

SwirlW I purchased a little table at Goodwill
two weeks ago, but forgot to go pick it up.  Today, I'm going to go see
if it's still waiting for me — and if there's any other junk I must
have on half-price day.  Perhaps I'll put on some make up & have my
kids lose the pajamas.  Perhaps not.  I love you, Saturday.

The blanket bling above is from Jamie of Sweet Baby Jamie.  To help me feather my booth at Quilt Market, Jamie made several Nicey Jane
quilts from my sample yardage.  I'm amazed by her free-motion quilting
skills.  I don't know how she does it so evenly, without getting stuck
in a corner as she meanders.  Wow.

ChurchFlowerCropT Jamie patiently kept these blankets under wraps till Nicey Jane's public debut last week. Now they are all available at her Etsy store. She has a design-your-own-Nicey-Jane-quilt listing too, and her pricing is a little ridiculous, if you ask me — ridiculously low.

Well,
Happy Saturday.  Treat yourself to something fun — a new scarf, a
candybar, a random, weird find from the thrift store, some time to
read, a quilt from Jamie.  I might hunt down a new pair of flip-flops.
My last pair broke yesterday and I'm not willing to switch to winter
shoes.

  1. on a whim I stopped by Zoe’s Trunk today, and low and behold they had Nicey Jane right at the door!! I was so tickled I of course bought some. Grabbed Church Flowers-Pink and Welcome Road- pink for a dress for the soon to be born (oh please can’t labor start!) baby.
Was also pleased to see they had your felt, I couldn’t resist a few more pieces. Hope your flip flop shopping was a success, I finally broke out the socks…know what you mean about not wanting to wear winter shoes!

  2. Just those little peeks set my heart aflutter. 🙂 My friends and I had craft day today and guess what we made? Yep, your holly pins! They are adorable and will be the perfect visiting teaching gifts. Thanks for the inspiration.

  3. Appaently most women love shopping and use it as a crutch too. I am generally not like that but since I have cottoned on to the idea of only refashioning and secondhand the local charity shops are my must visit places everytime i go out. Fortunately there are only two on our side of the bridge (a mental cut off line) so it doesn’t take too long to do. Hope you found your little table. Cherrie

  4. Those quilts look like sunshine in a basket! *sigh* Makes me wish it was summer again. Your new fabric line is just gorgeous. Hoping for some of your shop gift certificates for Christmas. (fingers crossed) 🙂

  5. I wish it were warm here too. Winter is okay, but when it is cold and grey and there is no snow I absolutely abhor it! Those quilts are delightfully beautiful!

  6. Those quilts are beautiful! I can only hope to aspire to that quilting greatness someday. It really shows off your new fabric. I am anxiously awaiting my order in the mail! 🙂

  7. Oh what joy!! To see my quilts on your blog, and such nice things you said about me 🙂 Thanks Heather. I am humbled. But now, I am off to make more Nicey Jane quilts 🙂 Have a lovely Saturday, hope you found some super cute flip flops!

  12. Hey there! I just wandered in through the Typepad homepage and I had to stop and drop a comment because of the welcome explosion of color! In a world of black backgrounds and moody graphics, just the look of your site is a ray of sunshine. I suppose it makes total sense if you’re a fabric designer =)
