Lists! Why haven’t I done this before?
There’s no sense trying to connect any of these thoughts together. A
list will suit the occasion perfectly.
1. Laura Lure – Laura has big news! Read about it here.
2. Rachel, Rachel, What Rhymes with Rachel? –
Isaac’s sister has a new blog and an online store. called harper. Remember Harper? Rachel has
perfected edgy simplicity. You’ll love her aesthetic.
3. Tara Haira – Meet Tara. Well, her hair at least. Tara’s now working with us a couple of days a week to help
keep our many plates spinning smoothly. This is the awesome Trash Ties
‘do she wore to work last week.
4. It’s Back! – Freshcut wasn’t on the Free Spirit website for a while. It turns
out their web designer made a mistake, so yes! the collection is still
available. Free Spirit’s new mantra is to keep every collection
available as long as it’s selling well. Good plan : )
5. Not So Sweet –
I made it four days without sugar last week. I’m trying for five this
week. This mini mug of cocoa love (see #9 below) is for Charlotte and
there’s one more for Elijah when he gets home.
6. Drip, Drip – It’s raining outside. I love rainy days!
7. Trip, Trip –
Isaac’s brother moved to Germany this year to teach at a university.
He’s there with his wife and new baby boy. I’m thinking I might have
to get my passport in order and fly out for a visit. Sometime. Just thinking.
8. Flip, Flip – We want to get a backyard trampoline for our kids soon. One with a net. Any suggestions before we jump to it?
9. Sip, Sip –
Cost Plus World Market is selling pink hot cocoa for Valentine’s Day in
pink-striped packages. Might make for some fun grown-up valentines??
These little strawberry/chocolate bits are from there too. The mini
mug set is from Target.
10. Hmmm – Check this out. What store would you live in?

Wow, I’m going to have to go shopping for pink cocoa. My little girlies would go nuts.
We got a trampoline for Christmas, 14′. It’s great and my girls love it but I can tell you one thing, the instructions were not well written and left out several important points. Good Luck.
Well, if I could live in any store it would be ABC Carpet and Home in NYC – it’s heaven (expensive heaven…) on earth!
I have some friends that have the in ground trampoline – much safer for the littles!
great inspiration! thanks!
we have a square trampoline, from Sam’s club, with the net. Our kids are 6, 8, and 10 and they love it!!! We take it down every winter to last longer. The first time you set it up, it’s tricky, but once you get the hang of it, it’s not bad at all. Give the man a power tool and it will get done! : )
I love that pink cocoa, I’ll have to pick up some, my son will love it. Thanks for the post of randomness, I enjoyed reading it.
love the blog – and live in Marburg, Germany – I would love to see you blog on your experiences over here! FYI – springs are really lovely and start early!
i grew up with a full-sized rectangular trampoline in my backyard, and i miss it every day! our house rule was never more than 2 people at a time, but the shape and spring-pull was good for 2 kids/teenagers to jump and not get tossed into each other the way i always felt on friends’ round ones. trampoline gravy? find a circus arts program near you and get them in a trampoline class. ok- maybe someday, and parenting acrobats does require some bravery…
What a fab photo, so sweeeeet! I love a list, have a little book for mine!
we don’t have a pink cocoa store here! drat!
that Ikea thing reminds me of Where the Heart Is, when Natalie Portman lived in the wal-mart 😛
and also! trash ties are on my “to-purchase” list…i’ve just taken up fencing and i think they’ll work really well!!
Beautiful picture. You’re a better woman than me making it so long without sugar. My family would leave home…….now there’s a thought……!
Loving me some pink hot chocolate. Sweet. My 11 year old is practicing with your trash ties and she’s getting pretty good at it. They’re pretty neat. XO
We have an in-ground trampoline. It’s wonderful. My husband dug a pit in our yard, put cinder blocks around the walls and gravel in the bottom for drainage and just put the trampoline inside it so that it’s level with the ground. We love it!
That pink hot chocolate sure looks deeeelish…yummy! Gotta get some for my kids. (and me…)
Congrats on your ability to control the sugar monster…I can go about 4 hours without it…sigh…keep up the fight. I really do feel better when I’m off sugar, tho. But how in the heck can anyone not have sugar with V-day coming up??? There must be chocolate involved… it’s a law!
Love your blog.
xo

Love my trashties! omg, you are a goddess if you can sew and not consume sugar. i can’t seem to think w/o chocolate! good luck on this journey!
check with your insurance people b/f you “jump in” with the trampoline – our carrier will NOT insure any family if they have a trampoline. we found out only b/c we were rate shopping and that question came up repeatedly. Got me really thinking – just be sure as if you get one w/o notifying them, then for some reason you need to do an insurance claim even unrelated, they will charge you a ton more.

I would live in anthropologie!! No question!
Beautiful picture, I Love pink
Ooh! I love World Market! We don’t have them here in Indiana, but I used to shop there all the time in Texas. Miss that place. Oh, and way to go on the sugar thing. Wow.
great stuff today! my daughter loves those little japanese candies. she’s hooked.
have a great week

I followed your “what store would you live in?” link, and the videos there are hilarious! I think I’d like to live in IKEA also…
Once again, thanks for making me smile today 🙂
I have to go with ABC carpet and home in NYC is amazing!!! OR maybe in a tiffany’s…
As far as the trampoline goes, there are newer designs by Rainbow that have the springs on the side below the actual surface so little legs can’t get stuck in the springs. See http://www.playgrounddepot.com
ABC Carpet & Home in NYC does rock- or maybe just a tiffany’s store?
Check out Rainbow tramplines at http://www.playgrounddepot.com – they are springless and a much safer design than the traditional ones!
My girls would love those mugs (and the pink treats). Will have to go search at Target tomorrow!
Great ideas for Valentines, thanks! :o)
We have a World Market and Target right next to each other…can you say “HEAVEN!”
In fact, I’d live in a Target! It would be perfect. At least the one near me because it has a Starbucks in it too. :oP
I could, in list form, list the reasons why I love this post.
1- I’m sick, and even just looking at that pink hot chocolate and the cutest cup and saucer set ever (even a heart handle) cheered me up (although for the life of me I can’t find it on world market)
2- I discovered world market. WOW!
3- I’ve been looking for a simple hair do fir for my beach wedding in Florida this May. There are only 12 of us going, and that ‘do would be perfect! Thanks Tara!
4- Trash ties!!! Must buy some to do the ‘do in May 🙂
5- so much awesomeness in the post, I could go on and on!
xo

I would live in Target. Without a doubt.
And as for the trampoline, I grew up with a neighbor (also in AZ) whose parents had dug out a hole the size of the giant tramp in their backyard and filled the hole with about 1 foot of sand. So you could still REALLY jump, but if you fell, you fell 0 feet to the ground.
Make sense?
April, let me list the reasons why I like your list of reasons..
1. You discovered World Market!
2. You’re getting married!
3. I can send you to Target’s cheapy section (not World Market) for heart-shaped mugs.
4. You thanked Tara, which reminded me I better tell Tara I’ve been posting her head all over the internet.
5. Your list made me laugh on a pretty unpleasant day.
Thank you s’much.
-Heather
Oh wow! Pink cocoa! I’m trying to figure out how they make it pink, and what would it taste like? It doesn’t seem like it could really taste the same in pink! 🙂
AHA!! So that’s why I didn’t find the mug set today. Sheesh! And the cheapy section is normally my first stop. I shall try again tomorrow and hopefully this time PREVAIL! ;o)
I like “cheapy section.” I think that one might stick.
Oh, please go get your passport (you might have to start now..it takes a little longer now). We were stationed in Germany twice and I loved it. The food, the sights….the playmobil toys. I love your blog and I think a trip to Germany would enhance it even more (not that it needs it).
My 4 kiddos are all gymnasts, so despite are views against trampolines (my DH is a surgeon and has seen way too many injuries from home trampolines) we finally bought one this last year. We got the 13ft square from Sams. We would have liked to put it into the ground, but the ground where we live is too rocky. Anyway…we do have a ONE person ( which the trampoline company has on there safety sheet) at a time rule to keep the possibility of injuries down. We keep a timer by the trampoline so there are no arguments about how long someone has been on.
I, like Kelli, would live in Target. In fact, I think if I didn’t go to Target I might be a very wealthy woman. Maybe that should have been my New Years resolution.
I just received a link to your blog from ABFabrics coop. I saw your question about trampolines — we also got one from Sam’s Club — Bazoongi is the brand. It has a net and has held up extremely well. We live in an open windy area and with two stakes, it’s has done well. The net seems very secure and doesn’t snag easily. My kids are REALLY rough on things so this is saying a lot!
Snowed in today but definitely going to get some of that pink hot chocolate tomorrow!
I am going to be a total buzz kill here and vote that you do not get a trampoline. We had one, we followed all the rules and 7 year old son was bouncing and flipped by accident and landed on his neck… he did not move for 4 days.. but by the grace of God he did heal but they were not sure that was going to be the case. There are so many other things that you can do as a family. please don’t risk one of your kids like I did. We pulled ours apart that night.. it was only 6 months old.. cost a fortune, had the capture net and saftey panels… we went so far as to have it distroyed so no one else could use it..

I read the whole post but the only thing I can think about is that gorgeous pink hot cocoa. Who knew such a thing existed? I must find this in a store near me…
trampolines? fantastic idea!
We have a 14ft one (Santa brought it.. in his sleigh… because Santa is magic, don’t you know? and very very strong) and the boys love it. Buy a strong one so adults can use it too. My husband (you know him) is on it every weekend. I tried… but after three children… must-remember-to-use-the-toilette-first.
Too much details, sorry.
I also must vote ‘no’ on the trampoline idea. I am an anesthetist and work nights in a level 1 trauma center, and I see A LOT of injuries from trampolines – not just broken arms and legs, either. Sometimes major scary head and neck injuries. Trampolines are on the list along with ATVs of NEVER EVER for my children. Sorry for the wet mop. I do love your site and blog and really enjoy the beautiful photography and equally beautiful ideas.
I sell insurance, and I also say check with your insurance company first – they need to know before you file a claim, and the other person was right, they probably won’t accept you with the trampoline (or without an exclusion of coverage for any injuries from the trampoline) .. huge liability exposure, like a pool with no fence or owning a vicious dog breed (in the insurance world). If you don’t tell them and then have to file a claim, it would more than likely be denied. But hey, other than that, great post! 🙂
What store would I live in? ABC Carpet & Home in NYC! No brainer! It is nonpareil!
I would live in Anthropologie – imagine trying on all those gorgeous clothes and lounging in their AMAZING beds and linens with that sweet smell. Every Anthropologie store smells incredible! Ahhhh…I love just thinking about it.
So easy! I have said it a million times….Pottery Barn.
I would live in Anthropologie (of course!!)
I’m in the ABC Carpet & Home group! You’ll find me sleeping amongst the bolts of fabric.
For those of you who don’t have a World Market, here is the manufacturer of the pink cocoa. (I usually get it in the Raggedy Ann tin). http://www.mcstevens.com/index.asp
Oh I am so headed to World Market for treats for all my girlfriends.
Just be forewarned that they (tamps) DO get sunrot here – Valley of the Sun. We joined Sam’s Club JUST to purchase the thing. Costco used to sell them, but just about the time we decided to buy one, they didn’t anymore. Definitely get the “fence” for it, which BTW costs as much as the darn tramp. In retrospect, I’m not sure I’d buy one again, but only because I don’t think my kids really used it all that much. I’m going to have get some of that pink cocoa — Pretty!
I also vote no on the trampoline. Many insurance companies won’t cover you if you purchase one. It seems like the type of thing that could open you up to lawsuits if anyone ever got hurt at your home.
Oh – I want to wear my hair like that everyday. (though mine is too short for even a ponystub right now) I love it. Well, gotta run out to Cost Plus to pick up the above yummies – thank you for the heads up. Lovely Blog
I love all the pinkness that’s around everywhere around Valentines!
We have had a trampoline (with nets) for 3-4 years now and I jump on it as much as the kiddos do. I drilled my neighbors (2 ER doctors and one family practice dr) and they all told me that most injuries come from the old style trampolines without nets. Or big kids landing on little kids. Our youngest (now 4) has grown up jumping on it with his older brothers. We still love it. Especially in the summer when we turn the sprinkler on it.
Wow, you take the most amazingly beautiful photos!!!
careful with trampoline, my 10 year old grandson broke his wrist last year. They had the above ground with net around it.
Where can we buy your gorgeous fabric?
Hi Heather!
I just got some of those trash ties. I love them! However, I can’t make my hair look as pretty as the girl in the picture. Got any tips?
Thanks
Lindsey
I’d walk out of this house empty handed for Target any day. Just let me know!
