Just what is it about this bouquet-of-one that makes me smile?
Gerbera Daisies have got to be the most innocent, la-di-da, casual,
take-it-easy flowers there are. And I’ve always had a thing for hobnail
too — it’s so silly and odd, ridiculous and fabulous at once. Look
how the vase and flower make a figure 8 together. Bam. I love that!
One of my Pop Garden prints is named ‘Pop Daisy’
– one big, bursting daisy. This bouquet reminds me of that print —
happy & simple, just like my Sunday ought to be. That’s the goal
anyhow.
Busy week coming up. Pretty little flowers all around the house to keep things energetic — one of my favorite tricks.

It would be lovely if every day was like this and not just sundays! Beautiful post.
on a side note, is there going to be a Heather Bailey book? My bookshelf is yearning for it.
I love hobnail too. My mother has given me all of hers – I have quite a collection. I’ll have to post some pictures.

Very pretty picture. In my candle making days one of my favorite and best selling fragrances was daisy. I love the hobnail vase too. There’s an interesting contrast of textures going on in that picture and I love it!

You definitely got it going on there…it actually made my heart beat a little faster. 😉 Just beautiful!
Lovely flower, lovely photo! Gerbera daisies always look so cheerful.
I have lots of this type of glass in my house as well. I have found memories of my Nana’s house with lots of it as well. I love the daisy print, you could do soo much with it!
I am trying to stay warm today since its cold here in Massachusetts today, my hands on my mac are chilly and I do not think I could anything but make some nice cocoa right now.
Happy Sunday!
you see how my head is cold too, I spelled fond ( found) in my comments!! I must get some coffee now!
Oh, I didn’t know it had a name. My Grandma and Mother have a bit of this and I didn’t know it was called hobnail. I can’t wait to get your latest line of fabric. Although I wish it could be sold in bundles. Like 1/2 yard or 1 yard of each print would be awesome. I can never find the entire line in one spot. 🙂
I’ve always loved that type of glass but never knew it was called hobnail. Glad I came here to learn something new.:) I love your blog and you’re such an inspiration in so many ways. Thanks!
Salina
the vase flower combo are very dynamic. i never gave that type of glass a moment’s chance, but now i will. 😉
This photo is beautiful! I was so happy to see that you posted today… I have been missing my daily dose of your blog. I LoVe that vase it is beautiful! I have a tall hobnail candy dish (it was my great grandmothers) in the most BeAuTiFuL color of turquoise/aqua! I LoVe it but haven’t quite figured out what I should do with it yet… But you have InSpIrEd me (like always)to find a purpose for it!
Are you BuSy BuSy this week with fun fabric/craft/completely LoVeLY things?

Love the pictures!

Gerbera Daisy rhymes with happiness for me too.
ME LOVE HOBNAIL!! I say that in my best cookie-monster voice!! I have some great hobnail pieces, but none so small and cute!! Pretty pink flowers and hobnail all in one place=happiness for me! Thanks for the eye candy as usual, I always love stopping on your blog for a burst of energy from the colors alone!
Gorgeous flower and gorgeous photo. Just love it!

Hi Heather, thank you for your yo-yo tutorial, I was searching for an easy idea to decorate a bag and I found it here.
I’ll come back.
Greetings from Spain.

I LUV me some Hobnail too! It’s such a sweet pattern for glassware =)
Mom’s still trying to teach me to distinguish between Fenton and Moonstone, but my absolute favorites are white opalescent pieces…and I don’t care what brand!
Beautiful pic and it looks like you may have turned some others onto Hobnail…HURRAH!
Very simple but so beautiful!
Thanks for making me smile on a monday morning!
Heather
Love the vase, and like so many others, didn’t know it was called anything… I willhave to check with my mom to see if we have any left from my grandmother… love the daisy (gerbers are my favorite all time flower!)
Lovely simple flower, it is so pop garden especially the hobnail vase 🙂
havent had a simple Sunday in ten years. ME thinks I need to get that flower in here fast. And yeah, um, HUGE fan of that hobnail.
I have your Pop Garden yellow rose bouquet – love the vibrancy! Oh, hobnail milk glass…it is multiplying like Tribbles in my home…it started with remembering the lone flower vase my mom had in my childhood…I then found one in my thrifting and then another and then I started gathering the lamps, candy dishes…hmmm, I think I can stop now. 🙂
I just discovered your blog – fun and bright just like your fabric! I can’t wait to read more!
Heather,
I adore your fabrics! Your designs are the most beautiful fabrics I have ever seen. Thanks for such gorgeous inspirational prints!
Gorgeous photo!
Sandra
Simplicity is always best. You actually see the flower and the color instead of losing it in the bouquet. It is absolutely gorgeous!
Wow! What a fantastic blog! This photo is just perfectly amazing!

Fantastic photo!
I have that exact same vase from my grandmother!!
I just came across your blog via One Pretty Thing. I love it! It’s one of the prettiest blogs I’ve ever seen!
That daisy photo is gorgeous, and while I’ve never heard the term “hobnail glass”, I like it as well. Interestingly, it reminds me a great deal of the latest DIY project I did on my own blog–a mayo jar covered in clear glass marbles. It’s not exactly the same, but they are similar. You can see it here:

I’m off to view more of your posts. So glad I came across your blog!
A single flower here and there is all you need sometimes for a lovely pick-me-up! You know how to make everything so beautiful! I just want to tell you how much I continue to enjoy working with your fabrics. I don’t think I will ever tire of your Fresh cut line! And I have a pile of charms and fat quarters of Pop Garden barely touched waiting for more time and inspiration! Just looking at it is enough to send me off to crafting dreamland!!!
I hope you keep up your energy and good spirits for the busy week.
~Emily
You know, a flower a day keeps the doctor away! Right? What a beautiful picture.
Does anyone know when the “Holiday” issue of creating keepsakes that Heather’s projects will be on the front is coming out? Does creating keepsakes have special issues or is it the holiday issue just the december issue? I know other magazines have there holiday issues out already. Help.
Thanks
The photo is amazing – so much detail. The flower looks great also!
i just got some pop garden fabric and i love it. i’m working on something cute and giving the fabric a different twist. i love your work!!
Picture perfect. What a pretty flower and vase.

That is such a gorgeous pic!!!!
I too love hobnail, have some vases that were my Mammaws!
What loveliness. Thanks for sharing. It was so nice and cheery on a very gloomy day.:)
A perfect vase for a perfect flower. I have a couple of Gerbera Daisies growing in containers. They seem to do better in pots then in the ground. I love the photo, very happy.
Hey Heather Remember the Mermaid costume you made Last year I think it was! I couldn’t get it out of my head so I had to made one! Of coarse I don’t know if you made up your pattern, but here is what I made from your pictures!

Thanks again for the inspiration! _Nena
I too love a daisy and hobnail… together it’s even sweeter! I’m needing to spread some energy this week, may just try your trick :)K
This is a gorgeous picture!
Hi Heather! I love your bitty booties. I made some recently for a few friends that had babies and everyone loved them! Thanks for sharing your pattern!
Gerber daisies look like the flowers children draw. That’s why I love them so much.
What?! No Halloween costume photos this year? Please share! I need more updates for my Heather fix! Purely selfish I know–like you don’t have more important things to do. You are always fun and inspiring—just so you know.
Oh, thank you for telling me the official name of that kind of glass! I have been a fan for a few years now, and even though I am about as far away from being a collector of ANYTHING as you can get, I totally crave collecting this glass with the little raised dots. It is so very sweet. Thanks!
