BelkinRecorder

This
gadget is awesome.  It's a Belkin TuneTalk™ Stereo voice recorder for iPods.  When you plug it
into the bottom of your iPod, you can record voice memos in a snap.
And there's no set-up or anything.  When the voice recorder is plugged
in, a new category called "Voice Memos" shows up right on the main
menu.  To run the recorder, you simply use the iPod's scroll-wheel and
select button to follow the prompts on the
iPod's main screen.

I
picked this device up at the Apple Store for a business need.  It wasn't cheap
– maybe $60 or $70?  But, once we heard the recording quality (which is surprisingly fantastic), Isaac & I have since used it for video voice-overs and for recording our
children's sweet little voices – while they're still sweet & little.  The voice files created are easy to move into the computer for storage as well — they import right into your iTunes library.

I highly recommend it.  See your local Apple Store for more info.  And, here's a current list of iPod models this recorder should work with.

  1. This sounds good. But by god, when Apple launches a new iPod model, why can’t they make it so that all the accessories you’ve bought for your previous model actually continue working on the new model?! That’s so annoying.

  2. I had read about it but forgot the name. I am definitly getting one just so I can record my daughter! I have a little snippet of me on a tape and its funny listening to it now. Man, technology.

  3. This is a great tool. Thanks for sharing, I’m thinking my husband would really like one of these. Father’s day is just around the corner too 😉

  4. Love this idea…Do you ever get those inspired ideas in the car? You could record them with this.
Listen to Elizbeth Gilbert, author of EAT,PRAY,LOVE (at the Ted Conference) on UTUBE and you’ll know what I am talking about…(.it is great)

  5. Thank you for the review. I have wanted to buy the voice recorder for the ipod but was worried it would not work well. I just want to record the funny things the kids say 🙂

  6. I bought one for DH a couple of Christmases ago and we love it.. you can also use it to tape from the web onto your iPod (or from a tape onto your iPod or from a minidisc… you get the picture)

  7. Wow! Thank you Heather for mentioning this little gem. We bought two on your recommendation and love them! I do a lot of talking on the phone and trying to keep accurate notes. Now I don’t have to, as I just record my side of a call and now won’t get mixed up or worry about losing my notes. Neat!
