Ms. Katie’s Butterfly

Bluebearbutterflyhb
ButterflyblankiehbBlue bear isn’t very scary.  He dreams of blue-eyed butterflies.

I’m finally fitting in some sew time with my fabric.  I’m prepping for a big magazine shoot in two weeks and am whipping up all sorts of fun:  dollies and kids’ clothes, purses and tablecloths. Jona and my mom are helping me out big time.  And, Isaac set up a flat-panel TV in my studio to keep me company.

So, back to Moulin Rouge and thread-covered jeans for me.  I’ll be back next post with one more doll quilt.

  1. Long time reader, first time commenter. Yay, and hopefully I will have the first comment. I have been drooling over your fabric for a while and hope to add some to my stash soon. Oh, and I love the way you pair your fabrics together. Cute, cute, cute.

  2. Oh, it’s wonderful, Heather! I love the design and the fabrics you used. How perfect! I eagerly await hearing about all your adventures once things settle down.

  3. Hi Heather,
hopefully Moulin Rouge won’t keep you away too long from all those lovely items in the making (Although I love Kidman and the sets were great I just couldn’t sit through MR)!
I bet that photoshoot is going to show a burst of colour and pattern and it’ll be a pleasure to look at!

  4. Thanks for sharing your beautiful creations. They are so inspiring. I can’t wait to find out what magazine your photo shoot is for.

  5. Heather, that butterfly is so pretty! If my daughter sees it, I know she’ll go nuts (she’s on quite the butterfly kick these days).

  6. That is SO cute! Best of luck at your photo shoot. My little one sure is eyeing your butterfly quilt for her Ted.

  7. I look forward to your posts and colorful pictures every day — your work is so uplifting — it brings a bit of sun to our gloomy Seattle weather!

  8. Ooooh how cute. I FINALLY got my hands on some of your fabric last weekend at the Chicago quilt festival. It’s wonderful in photos but in person so much better! I can’t wait to cut into it — I may have to “make” some time tomorrow (grad students do not live by study alone) to dive in.

  9. Just got my first taste of your fabric. It was only available in the UK on ebay as pre-cut quilting squares. Not that I mind, my baby is delighted to get a new buggy blanket. Do you know if/when we’ll get more Freshcut in the UK?

  10. I bought some of your fabric today and love it…..not sure what I will create with it yet but I just had to have some! I clicked on Jona’s name in the link and it was the same person that I bought an adorable bag from on ebay….small world, please tell her that I still have it and it looks great after 2 years. I hope she will list some more…once she is done with your project of course. Good luck to you !

  11. Lucky girl to work with Jona! So talented! We are in the same eBay design group. Can’t wait to see what the two of you come up with!
