Marching, Marching

Such great feedback on the turtles
It sounds like a lot of these names are making their way back into
fashion:  Henrietta, Matilda, Penelope, Harriet, Eloise.  How awesome
is that?!

Here in the studio, I have
a quilt in the works, several aprons, handbags, blankets,
basket-liners.  It's like bathing in ice cream.  Wait till you see what
I mean.

And let me just say that my
mother is a SAINT.  She's doing more sewing than I am this week. I'm
juggling contracts left and right, interviews, booth plans, model
chasing (see yesterday's tweets), pattern covers, sample design — that kind of stuff.  All fun, but a juggle nonetheless. Thank heaven for mom!

  1. Owls could never be ‘out’ (unless you’re one of those poor spotted ones, of course). You could make cow pies out of that fabric and they’d STILL be fabulous. 🙂 Love the turtles! 🙂

  2. I still love those turtles, but marching like that I almost find them a bit scary. Are they going to take over the world? Make everything flowery and colourful? Hmm, now that I think of it.. maybe not that scary at all..

  3. Those turtles really ARE adorable, as are their names. Good luck with all of your upcoming projects. I can’t wait to get a peek at the quilt!

Now, I’m just going to take a look around..

  8. Oh, that turtle is sooooo lovely!! But there is no way I could stick a pin in it, I would have to keep it as decoration only!!

  9. My little girl who turns 7 in November is called Henrietta. She is named after a park In Bath – UK. The turtles are so cute.

  10. Love these adorable turtles! The first thing that popped into my head when looking at them is that the turtle shells look like those adorable bucket hats that little girls wear. Wouldn’t those be adorable in these fabrics? How cute!

  11. My pet turtle when I was little was named Henrietta! Actually, we had no idea whether it was a boy or a girl, so its name frequently switched back and forth from Henrietta to Henry…

  12. Love the turtles! Have bought the pear (and fruit) pattern but not even got round to making that yet… and now those cute turtles… sigh… will have to order that one too…. You are making too many nice things too fast!
