Isn’t
this pillow fantastic? I’m pretty sure I collect such things to make
up for my lack of family heirlooms — heirloom envy. Well, and my lack
of grandparents growing up. Nope, I don’t have a cherished "LW", but I
can fancy this pillow was lovingly embroidered by my fictitious great aunt
Lulu – Lulu Wiggins, I’m sure – and perch it in the prime position on
my bed nevertheless.
I adore her choice of dusty gold and rich
turquoise on fresh, rumply pink, don’t you? Another who-zee-whats-it for what’s quickly becoming a trinket tour of my bedroom.

It’s such a lovely pillow, the colors are quite luscious. So nice of your Great Aunt Lulu Wiggins to bequeath it to you–love that idea and little fantasy story.
Love it.
I live here in the valley of the sun as well…I am really dying to know where you shop! I haven’t found all the great thrift shops yet…also, finding your freshcut line locally…pretty hard!
I really did have a grandma Wiggins. How funny is that! We called her Grammie Wiggie. She was so fun and would have loved that pillow – the bright colors were her!

Aah, Merchant Square! And for Freshcut, you might call Val at The Bernina Connection or give Zoe’s Trunk Quilts a call. It’s always a good idea to petition your local shops for the fabrics you want. Enthusiasm is quite persuasive π
How pretty is that!?! Lovely! Don’t you just adore sweet little things that make you smile!
Oh I just have to laugh at this whole little post – you are a funny funny girl Heather Bailey! I love your made up name of Lulu Wiggens. I’m sure Mary Poppins must have known her!
Smiles, JEN
Oh yes, they would have known each other, I’m sure.
It is a very nice pillow!
The colors looks great together.
so sweet!
You make me smile π I’d love to have known Lulu Wiggins.
You really gave me a fright today. My maiden name is Lori Wiggins and when I was in middle school, my cursive writing of Lori looked more like Lou. One of my teachers jokingly refered to me as Lou Wiggins and I went through a 2-year phase of my friends calling me LouLou. When I read your post title on the feed reader, I thought you were sending me a secret message! Ha!
I could pack up all of my monogrammed childhood treasures and send them your way so that you’ll have a matching set. π
Wow, Lori K. that is strange and magical!
I thought LW could be “Life is Wonderful” or “Live Wild” or “Lucky Woman!”
Whichever… the pillow is pretty and looks happy to have a new home.
I just love that pillow! The pink is just wonderful. My great grandmothers name was Lulu. I wish she would have left me some heirlooms that looked like your pillow. She did leave me some dishes that I just love. There is also a very old cartoon named “Little Lulu”
I love that pillow!
Thanks Heather! I’ve never heard of the Bernina Connection or Merchant Square, I’ll check them out. I LOVE Zoe’s Trunk, they used to carry the full line of Freshcut but sold out and now only stock a few prints.
my maiden name is Wiggins.. LOL. it’s so funny to run across it when I’m least expecting it π I loved my Grandma more than anything, and she would have LOVED that pillow π

Very beautiful. My aunt would love this.
Lovely Colors & Beautiful!
It must have been made for me!!! (Laura Weaver)
Love your blog, and your fabrics. Just fabulous! Thanks for so much inspiration!
π
well of course it belonged to aunt lulu at one time!!
too cute

I just thumbed through my October issue of Romantic Homes and on page 65 there is a picture of a New York flea market with a sign that says, “LuLu’s Vintage Lovelies”. My first thought?
Aaah. Lulu Wiggin’s stuff, for sure.
This post totally hit my heart. I never had grandparents around, and precious little in the way of heirlooms. So things that can be “adopted” as heirlooms catch my eye too!

It’s easy to see why you love this sweet pillow. It’s truly charming and I love how you’ve “adopted” it as your own heirloom. I’m certain the talented woman that made it would be so pleased to have her handiwork so admired and loved.
Sorry this is off topic, but…
Are you ready to tell us about Trash Ties yet? I am very curious!
Thanks, gji7
It is fantastic…but i imagine it more for a Lillith, or Lilly
I love the colors used in this addorable pillow; What a keepsake!!!!!
Vintage looking and beautiful.
Oh…what a beautiful pillow!
I love all the colours of things on here, it’s all so pretty. I’m going to check out more of your site :o)
My initials. π
I visited your site for the first time yesterday, found a link at the Pleasant View Schoolhouse, clicked through the whole thing. I love it, love your fabric designs and your workroom layout and the warm feeling.
So I woke up this morning with visions of redecorating my guest-bedroom-sewing room to reflect a similar spirit, beginning with light pink walls. You also gave me renewed energy for rejuvenating my own business. Thanks for the inspiration!
I knew Lulu Wiggins in grade school. Really!
I love your Freshcut and this particular use of it has to rank in the top 1% for smiles:

Nothing better than an act of great compassion and sacrificial love…pretty cool for you to have a meaningful part in it!
wow, that pillow and embroidery is spectacular! what a find~
You are all too funny!! Don’t you just love the name LuLu? The pillow is delicious! Great colors!
My youngest’s name is Tallulah, but we call her Lulu and our last name begins with a W! Love the pillow!

This is a great find!!! ItΒ΄s lovely!
Love, love, love!! I love anything handmade. I didn’t have too many things handmade for me growing up so I have been trying my best to make things for my daughter. “LW” what a coincidence, I’ll have to make her something like this as well. Too cute!
Heather, I’ve been in a slump lately and not getting much work done. I have to say after stumbling upon your website today I feel very much inspired to get some work started. I have purchased fabric that has been waiting for months to have something done with it….thanks for being you! π
