Here’s a true find. Who starts their own shoe
company? Amazing.
These polkadotties are all Carrie Miner’s doing.
They’re called Puddle Jumpers. Carrie is a single mom of two adopted
daughters from China. She runs her shoe business out of Utah and has
an incredible story. We spoke on the phone a few weeks back and I was
so impressed. If your daughter/niece/ grandaughter isn’t sporting
polkadot mary janes yet, then it’s about time, don’t you think? Wow.

And Adorn. Boy am I late on this one. You guys have been telling
me for weeks to go check out the Summer 07 issue of Adorn for a happy
Freshcutâ„¢ surprise. You were right. They did an article where four
designers interpretted the same bag pattern, all using my fabrics. And
look, designer No. 4 was none other than the fabulous Ms.
Congdon. Lisa, is this the project you emailed me
about a while back? Wow, so look at all those fabrics there and I
didn’t even do the sewing. Yes, this issue’s still on newstands — great magazine, by the way.

Those shoes are so cute! I wish I had a little girl to buy them for. Guess I’ll have to hunt down show sizes for my friends’ daughters instead. 🙂 Grats on the article, too!
We love Puddle Jumpers. The sole is very flexible, and the designs are just soooo cute! I haven’t seen that issue yet, but can’t wait until I do.
Why can’t they make things like this for adult sized feet?
Oh wow! Those shoes are so adorable. I hope she still has the polka dot styles when it is time for fall shoes! Thanks for sharing the website.
I love polka dots, there is just something so cheery about them. I try to put at least one polka dot fabric in each of my quilts!
I will have to go look for that Adorn magazine. Haven’t seen it before.
Adorn is one of my favorites — I actually subscribed to it, I love it so much. Polka dot MJs are the best!
I’d wear those shoes myself!! But then, maybe my taste in shoes isn’t to be trusted… http://lisaclarke.livejournal.com/2007/05/04/
like the magazine – a bunch – but I have to say that cover and its button choker is quite a bit of hyperbole!
I want me some polka-dot puddle jumpers too!
I really wish she made those shoes in grown-up sizes!
Hey look! Your fabric as wallpaper! Hmmmm……
Aww, if only they made shoes with a one inch larger insole. So close!
I know… I love those shoes!! I bought three pairs last month and I don’t even have a girl… I bought one for my future girl 🙂
Yes, Carrie has an amazing story! She spoke in April at the Boutique Cafe Girls Getaway Weekend, it was great! Her shoes are so cute and very practical!
Amelia
Wowzers……..super duper cute shoezers! I saw your fabrics on these bags last week, and HAD to have the magazine! Lovely, eh?!
i must get this magazine.
so cool.
can’t wait to check it out in
real life!
Where does everyone find these awesome shoes! These are cute, there’s some you’re wearing in a photo a while back that I’m loving, and some on a post of Alicia’s a while back that I’m loving. I NEED SHOES! Okay, maybe it would help if I went shopping instead of spending all my time blog surfing! ~A 🙂
thanks for the info on the wonderful shoes, got them for my girls, wow, nice story too.
Love those bags from Freshcut! And love, love those shoes. In fact when I was in Salt Lake City for Market, I bought a pair for my 2 1/2 year old daughter Ella, in a grass green color. She refuses to wear any other pair of shoes right now and calls them her “poka-dod” shoes. I think I’m going to get a red pair too!!
yes, that’s the project, heather!! i am so glad you like it!! i wish i could keep it, but it belongs to Adorn now. 😉
Aren’t those puddle jumpers the cutest? Love them!!! Oh, and I have to go pick up that issue of Adorn before they are all gone. Thanks for the reminder.
I just love puddle jumpers… I drool over the colors every time I visit Utah stores! You can find them everywhere there!
I wish those shoes came in grown up sizes because I’d be all over that. I’m going to try to find that magazine – it looks like it has some great stuff in it. Now if I could just get the local quilt shop to carry your fabrics, I’d be set.
I have a daughter from China too! When we were in Guangzhou I bought the cutest shoes for her. Now I can get more! Your fabric looks beeautiful….you’ll be seeing even more of it in print in the future I’m sure of it! Keep painting..
OH I love Carrie! she is am AMAZING woman! We met up with her in Utah in april. Her story is unreal and she has the biggest heart! and of course her shoes are a MUST HAVE!!!
after many months of drooling over you fabric online, i finally got to see your fabric in a store. i got to touch it. i got to see it in cymk. there was nothing virtual about it, it was fabulous.
Lovin’ the shoes! I NEED to have them but how do you choose just one color??? I want to buy them all!! They are all so fun!
Great bags too, I looked for a new Adorn a few weeks ago and couldn’t find it so I will have to hit the newsstands again to find it now. Thanks!
I’m also one of the lucky girls who got to hear Carrie speak. Such a wonderful woman, with a pure heart. And the SHOES– delish! Oh, and I’ve been drooling over those bags in Adorn for weeks. LOVE them. 🙂
Very cute shoes! When I have kids, they will be wear some of those. But I think it would freak my husband out if I bought them now!
I was just at Borders this past weekend and enjoyed reading that article.
i have been a long time fan of those shoes. i really love the yellow ones.
I’m not sure if I ever posted this or not… but here’s a quilt I made with a lot of your fabrics: http://daily-craft.blogspot.com/2007/03/quilt-2-finished.html
Thanks for all the inspiring design!
I am amazed at the creativity here. Your fabrics are beauuutiful..and that magzine is awesome.
oooooooh! those shoes are lovely! I need them for me!
Those shoes are adorable!!
I’ve never seen that magazine, but am now thinking about subscribing. It looks great!
I went and bought that issue just for that article last week. I’ve been following Lisa’s work for almost a year now and love your fabrics so it was enough to force the cash from my hand.
Lily has the green ones, I love them. I am going for the red this Fall… they will match all the little mushrooms around here!
I would *so* wear those shoes if they came in my size.
Ok, those shoes need to come in my size too! But they may just be perfect for my daughter. Thanks for the heads up!
I agree to all the others, this polkadoted shoes are so son so nice and happy.
LOL! I guess I’m not the only one who thought, “I want those shoes in MY size!” Okay, maybe not in orange, but the pear green ones are adorable. Sigh. 🙂
WOW! Wish they made those shoes in MY size!!!
What fun colors!!
Tammy
those shoes are darling!
I did the bag in Adorn with the flap and your fabrics were amazing! Love them!
Heather,
You are at it again! So very inspiring~~I love your artistic, sentimental ways. I love the dancing flower and the fact that you had the limo driver snap a picture of green grass for you. I love polka dots too and Carrie Miner is the kindest, dearest soul-recently meeting her in Utah was a highlight of my Spring. Thanks for being you and sharing your gifts with all of us. I am glad that visiting PA was fun for you. Hugs, Eva
Love the bags, shoes and magazine! Not much I couldn’t love about your taste in things! My daughter just got her first pair of puddle jumpers last week. We got her the red and white pair because she insisted they were Minnie Mouse shoes! She will have the best dressed toes at Disney!
What great finds! Thanks for sharing with us!
