I have been a long-time fan of Mary Engelbreit.
When I was a kid, there was a sticker and stationery store at the
nearby mall. It was my favorite stop. The one day I was allowed to
choose any sticker from the sticker wall, I went home with a 2.5" circle
sticker designed by Mary. It featured a girl in a wide straw hat with
glasses and bobbed hair, the classic Mary character. It was signed "ME"
at the bottom.

I didn't know who "ME" was at the time. But as I discovered "ME" on
more and more products, I connected the dots, asked around, and learned
that "ME" was the delightful, talented and prolific Mary Engelbreit.

Mary's
artwork has adorned millions of greeting cards and everything from
calendars and best-selling children's books to gifts, crafts and home
accents.

About six years ago, I had the privilege to work with Mary's team at Mary Engelbreit's Home Companion magazine on the cover-story for the April/May 2008 issue. Such a great magazine.

In fact, Mary unknowingly connected me with one of my good friends.
When I put a general call out for help on the Home Companion photoshoot,
Jona
volunteered. This is how we first met. I later learned that she was an
uber Mary-Engelbreit fan and had counted her lucky stars for the
opportunity to come to the shoot. She had collected every single issue
of Mary's magazine, except for the first issue.

the magazine's editors, Barbara and Kathy, I was able to set Jona up
with a signed copy of that first issue—to complete her collection.

I have yet to meet Mary in person. She was at Quilt Market a year or so
ago, but I couldn't get free to wait in the enormous line of fans eager
to shake her hand. This woman is popular! I have been delighted to get to know her through Instagram though, of all places. And I look forward meeting her one day.

Though I am sure she has weathered every storm and sunny day an
art-licensing business brings with it, Mary has maintained a joyful and
engaging point of view—a sweet, humorous and uplifting spirit that
continues to win fans worldwide.

  56. I have been a ME fan for about 30 years. Our house has been decorated with all sorts of ME knicknacks. My classroom has been decorated with illustrations and I have an ME stand-up doll who rather resembles me on a focal point in my classroom. My children, who are now 26 and 31 know the one thing they can always buy for their mom, for any celebration, is ANYTHING ME. I would love to win the calendars to add to my history of ME collection. The colors brighten my home and the short inspirational phrases express my outlook on life and hopefully make others think a bit when they read them. I’m enjoying one of Mary’s calendars hanging above my computer desk this year. I would love to have several for the coming year.   79. I have adored Mary Engelbreit and her artwork for over 20 years. I first encountered ME when my best friend in high school gave me an ME tin. I still have the tin, the friend, and the love of all things ME. My husband and I live by the MOMs Do It All calendar. Even he insists that we get one every year to keep track of all our family’s activities. This prize would be AMAZING to win!!!

  101. I ADORE Mary’s artwork!!! It’s all over my house and my year can NOT start until her calendar is posted next to my pantry door. Only then is the Holiday Season complete and the next year begins! I’m so happy that her work is becoming more and more easy to find than it used to be in the past.   111. The same thing happened to me! I first “found” Mary Engelbreit by purchasing a darling sticker (by her) at a stationary store (a ton of years ago!). Since then, we’ll let’s just say I’ve met her in person(though she won’t remember me—she autographed a poster of her artwork for me at a Silver Bella event years ago); I have EVERY SINGLE ISSUE of Home Companion, and well, that’s just a start!   139. What a fantastic way to celebrate! I became a ME fan in 1988 when visiting a gift shop in Bloomington, Indiana. My eldest was attending Indiana University at that time. I now get 3 different ME calendars per year one for the wall, one on my desk and one I use as a journal

  188. Thanks so much for the ME giveaway! I discovered her work by buying a tee shirt 25 years ago! I always buy a wall calendar and planner to write my doc appts and meetings down. I have tons of cards that I hoard because they are just too pretty to use! And I have many of her garden flags as well as all of her books. Love her work!

  200. I’d be so thrilled. I began having to have two or more of Mary’s calendars every Christmss! But to win the entire 2014 year’s collection would be beyond thrilling. Mary is so upbeat and fills her world with sunshine. I keep waiting for her to begin production of her wonderful magazine, again! Hint-hint! I named my first-born daughter, Heather, because I love that name and it’s meaning ~ JOYFUL SPIRIT!!! Heather, thanks for giving us all something to hope for!!! I taught on the Sicangu Lakota (Rosebud Sioux) Indian Reservation in southcentral, SD. These were the most rewarding years of my life. Due to health reasons, I had to take early retirement. I miss my students very much. I have really had to become frugal as finances are tight right now. The friendships with my students, their parents, etc. are one of my most prized possessions. But somewhere in my home, you WILL always find a Mary Engelbreit calendar!!! 🙂

Mary’s drawings inspire me to continue to be an artist in my free time and her words and sayings touch my heart! If I was lucky to win, I would give some of the ME calendars to my crafty friends (we used to work together at a craft store a few years ago and have remained dear friends). These wonderful friends always continue to influence art in my life and this would be a great way to say thank you to them. Continue to make beautiful artwork Mary!

  282. I am in New Zealand but many years ago I was staying in La Jolla and had the opportunity to read an autobiography of ME! Have never seen it since but have seen calendars and cards here. Love all of the work that I have seen her do and have St Louis on my life list.   295. Ya! I LOVE ME! Years ago, my Grammy and I had a great connection because of Mary Engelbreit! We both loved her pictures and we would talk about them often. We both received the magazine each month and she would save the paper dolls for me. Now that my Grammy is gone, it is still one of the most precious memories I have of her..our love for ME! I would LOVE to win the calendars to share them with my daughters who are now 8 and 6.

I have been a fan of ME’s work since I can’t remember when – I have the School Kids Christmas pageant ornaments from when she first partnered with Dept 56, and I’ve had ME’s “SNAP OUT OF IT!” card posted over every desk I have had since I was in college.
