Dark Chocolate, Light Sewing

MovingAlongS
I'm
back from a delicious weekend away.  After my collection shipped off to
the mill, Isaac treated me to a stay at a local resort where I slept
in, swam laps, ate out, and shopped all evening – both days.  It was
bliss.

Now, I'm onto the next wave of things, which involves some
significant sewing – hallelujah.  I'm making 7 mystery projects for the
cover of a upcoming pattern.

Workin

And,
as we're mid-stream in setting up a new computer for me, I've got my
sewing machine and current computer stacked on one table.  There are serious acrobatics involved
in getting to my keyboard just now.  I can't be bothered to set up a
separate table for my computer;  I'd rather stretch and hurdle.  This
way I can sew, blog, sew, tweet, sew, and so on.

I'm getting my sewjo back — and cuddling up to my kids, my dogs, my chocolate stash, & this here blog.  Feels good.

Confucius say:  Beware the clearance Easter candy row at Target.

  1. Very nice. Is that a wall mounted computer screen I see in the background??! Can’t wait to see what’s coming out next!
BTW – Just in time for my doctor to ban chocolates from me…Easter…and the candy sales following 🙁 Foowey! I’ve been eating un-frosted butter cupcakes since my family likes chocolate frosting. I feel so deprived!

  2. O.k., so that is such a tease! I am eager to see your new line, do I have to wait, or is there a place I can look?? Really, it is just torture that I have to wait!! I totally know what you mean about the acrobatic thing. I am continuously moving my long arm, cutting board, and other sewing machine, my arms should be very toned!!! Too late about the chocolate.
So glad you can cuddle with your kiddos again!!

  3. I saw that candy and went the other way…Happy Sewing ..I just started my Hannah’s First Communion Dress…changed the pattern completely and wishing for luck 🙂 Also searching for that perfect Vintage Lace 🙂

  4. Isn’t it nice to get back to the things that really define our happiness? Family, sewing, holidays and chocolate….oh and blogging of course!

  5. Heather, I have a sneaking suspicion that acrobatics of just this type is your specialty. I see you pulling off your 7 sewing projects, the tweeting, blogging choco-ing, etc etc all at once quite gracefully. Your weekend of swimming and shopping sounds like bliss btw–happy for you to have had that. Can’t wait to see your latest…

  6. I was a little bitter because my local Target had NO Easter Clearance stuff by Tues! I think they were being stingy… they couldn’t possibly have sold everything, and so I wonder what happened to it all!!

  7. Hey, look at you! I have the same computer so I’ll be interested to see how you set things up. I’d LOVE to sew, blog, facebook and sew some more at the same time too!

  8. can’t wait to see your new collection! when can we get a sneak peak and will will it be available to purchase? have a great day!

  9. I was in AZ for Easter ( I live in CA) and I saw someone I thought might be you at some shopping place, Kierny maybe? Did you have a blue shirt on and go into Restoration Hardware?? I should have just asked! I follow your blog and love all your designs!!

  10. Christy – I DID go to Restoration Hardware last weekend. My sister is moving this week and needed some touch-up paint from RH. I got some marshmallow roasting poker-thinga-ma-bobs there too. Sorry I missed you.

  11. Sewjo –You crack me up!!! – I bet you are a blast to be around in person. Wanted to attend DD’s Inspire Weekend in NC just to meet you, but a first grade field trip hit the calendar at the same time. I can just see you blogging, twittering, sewing, popping chocolate and TAP-ING!!! LOL Blog more often – you make us smile. 🙂

  12. Can’t wait to see your new designs. I absolutely LOVE your designs and patterns, not to mention your color combos…You inspire me! I just bought a new sewing machine and I still have yet to take a sewing class…HA HA HA! However, I’m self-taught and a quick study so I’m eager to get my sew on!

  13. What? New fabric! Oh I can’t wait. I’ve been on pins and needles since your latest fabric debuted just wanting more and more. Your designs are much better than chocolate. Can’t wait to see the new pattern either. What fun!

  14. I love your hairdo! How did you do that? It is awesome! Also those marshmallow roaster sticks from RH are the best thing since sliced bread so handy for those summer fires.
    Love your blog!

  15. “Sewjo”–I’m going to have to borrow that. That’s exactly what I’ve been missing lately, or ever since baby number 4. I need to get it back! And…are you going to share HOW you put that wowser harido together? 🙂
