Across
the country and back again in one day plus. I had just enough time
outdoors to snap a photo of this dancing flower outside the
Philadelphia airport. It’s got some serious moves — the same sort of
joyfulness I was going for with the mum print below. I was happy to
see that flowers break-dance in nature the way they do in my
imagination.

I had the limo driver take this other picture. Look at that lush green
grass and those trees. Those trees! I should have packed a picnic and
a good book.
I had a great time, though. Pennsylvania was green and friendly.
The historical buildings and countryside farms on the East — they
drive me batty — love the details and the stories. I did, however,
make it safely past the rental car booths and onto my engagement.
I’ll save the Cranberry caper for another trip.

Heather, I’m glad that you had a good time back east & hope you don’t suffer from jet lag. I went to quilt show in Annapolis Maryland yesterday and saw several vendors with your fabric. Cottonseed Glory had a beautiful sample quilt. I now have a even taller pile of your fabric and at least one project in mind.
Put your feet up for a while, jet set girl!

Wow! It looks like Some of your wonderful creations might be coming to QVC?!
Hi, Heather! Does the trip have anything to do with another TV appearance? 🙂 You are one awesome lady!
I love the way you just slipped ‘limo driver’ in there. If I was riding around in a limo I think I wouldn’t be able to be so subtle. And if my hair looked as great as yours always seems to, then I would definately be making the limo driver take my picture. So guess my jealousy is kind of not so subtle either. Hmmmmm……must work on that.
Everyday I stumble across another crafter, or crafty quilter using your prints to make something beautiful… More beautiful!
The background looks more like a park setting than an airport! I like those little polka dot shoes in the other post, my GD would love those. I’ll have to look out for a copy of the ADORN magazine as well.
hope you had a successful trip. I almost mentioned it when you first posted and you (unlike my childhood self) probably know … Pittsburgh and Philly – not exactly close. My family moved to the Philadelphia area when I was six, my cousins moved to Pittsburgh … I thought we’d be seeing them all the time but at the speed limits then it was about an 8 hours drive so … not so much.
I am insanely jealous of you, because you are sooo beautiful. I want to come back in my next life as Heather Bailey. 🙂
hi heather, just recently came across your blog – it’s great! can you recommend a sewing machine for a beginner? also, do i need a different sewing machine if i want to quilt in the future? thanks for your help!
Love the photo of the dancing flower 😉

I just wanted to say that I love your blog. Your photos and your crafts are goregous.
I can’t imagine all that lush as I live in Arizona, too! I miss all that lush grass and trees.
I just received the green dancing mum fabric today in the mail (how great is it to come home to a fun package after being away for a few days?). Your designs are really stunning. I plan to make a dress with this fabric soon.
Love that photo from outside the airport — flowers do dance. Know what you mean about the east coast and the history and details. There is some of that in the midwest too, but for some things — you just can’t beat the eastern US. Oh, unless you go to Europe. In which case — all bets are off.
I totally love all the colour in your posts – and you always so well dressed and pretty! I live in the UK, and I can’t wait for an opportunity to visit all these places you talk about in your posts.
Oh you were in my town! Glad it was a good, if brief, trip.
Beautiful flower and beautiful mum fabric print!
I see QVC in the background in that picture; hopefully, that means we might be seeing some of your designs on QVC in the future?!
Your mums are totally my favorite of your prints! I made a skirt out of one of the prints to wear to my brother’s wedding! Rock on mums!
Your dancing flowers (photo & designs) are poetic.
I LOVE your mums fabric….my most fav!!! And my biggest seller!! Thanks for creating your gorgous fabrics!!

Hi Heather
Went to a talk by Kaffe Fassett on Sunday – he’s doing a tour around Australia at the moment). He did a demo on how he does a design wall – thought you’d get a buzz to know he used some of your big floral print in his demonstration.
He was great – very exciting to meet a hero.
Cheers
Megan

I didn’t know you were a Gilbert girl.? I grew up there.Should have known by the eggs post 😉 (I lived on one of the farms)

Found your blog via the yo yo tutorial (so excited to try it). What gorgeous fabric! And I love the flower… I love that it is a dancing flower to you–to others, it might be a ruined flower, a flower of imperfection. Congrats!
Great blog!! I will be back for more.

I’ve just found your blog, and I’m so glad I did!! I live in the U.K. and absolutely love colour and pattern too! Sadly, I don’t share your talents for actually making things!!
Just found your blog, it’s really lovely and different!
welcome back, love the new banner!
I love looking at old photos. I spent visits with my grandma looking through old family photos while my sisters played outside. My father is a dentist and I married a dentist. It is funny how that works out more often than you think. Great Blog.
What an amazing house! That is a true treasure to have.
You are such a talented lady and your blog is very fun. I have featured you on http://todayscreativeblog.blogspot.com
