Perhaps the silliest thing I’ve ever spent more than $50 bucks on
— a lamp lady with a tiered skirt made of the most atrocious lace. I
don’t know where to put her, but she makes me smile. I brought her home
about a year ago I think, and set her on a cabinet in my room and well,
there she is.
I had that lamp growing up and I loved her. I still have the lamp body actually. Someday I’ll have to refurbish her 🙂
Oh sweet hahaha. If I ever see a leg lamp, you know “the major award”, If i ever see one of those in real life and it’s for sale…it’s soooo mine!

Here you go! Just promise me you don’t have any 10 year old boys in your house!

Just how bad is that lace?
Come on – give us a look!
Oh, it’s that stiff, plasticy stuff. You’re right, I’ll have to take a picture. Just trying to keep things pretty around here.
And, Camille, thanks for the link! I’m absolutely ga-ga for the leg lamp string of lights on that site. I would love to have a string of those as Christmas decorations. My kind of decorating.
Reminds me of the leg lamp from The Christmas story!
Oh! I had one of those when I was a little girl. I have been wishing that I still had it for my little girl. It make sme smile too.
Every time my hubby and I go to Hawaii, we consider one of the hula dancer lamps… but we haven’t ever bit the bullet yet. I suppose if I found a vintage one at a shop, I would just do it!
Can’t wait to see the full picture!
hi! i spent $50 on something wonderful yesterday!! i bought your fabric to make a quilt!! seriously! i have never made a quilt but i am feeling adventurous! thank you for designing such GORGEOUS fabric!
It is very vintage, I love it and if I saw her I would have bought her too. So do not feel silly.
My step mother once had a similar lamp (pink). I say once, because my younger sister accidentally broke it while taking shelter during a tornado warning. I don’t know about which my step mother was more upset – the impending tornado, or her pink lamp!
Oh I loved stuff like that when I was a little girl. We had a bedroom lamp shaped like a little mouses house and it glowed all cosy when it was on. My aunt had a lady lamp with those fiber optic things sprouting out of it – i thought it was absolutely magic. I think you should make your gal a new skirt. A designer one off by you in your fabric – modernise her!
do you know where your gonna put her yet??

I know on a cabinet but which room?… sorry

She is lovely. Reminds me of my grandmother’s bedroom dresser. I wish I could see all of her. Her skirt interests me.
What a fun lamp! I think she’s quite cute.
Is that the socket coming out of her head? LOL… I think she has a *bright* idea!
Heather, she totally needs to go in your little girls room so she can pretend she is a ballerina.
You may have to redo the lace. LOL
oh i had that exact lamp too! Oh now i wonder if my grandma still has it? i loved her and named her eveline.
My most recent motto has been if you want it and can afford it, get it because it you
don’t you will probably regret it. Has happened many times to me – I’ve probably saved a ton of money but had many (short-lived) regrets. I just have to say your blog on most embarrassing moments is hysterical. I could not sleep last night and spent at least an hour reading the comments. I laughed and laughed and honestly felt better about myself and my
embarrassing moments after reading the comments. Thanks for a GREAT idea!!!!!!!!!!
Love a great vintage find.
It’s fun to have little things around your home to make you smile now and then. : )
oooo, I think she is smile-worthy, for sure!
Remember, Silly is good for the soul!
She’s quite pretty!
Such a cute lamp! :o)
Camille, I HAD to send that link to my “honey” and his family. They LOVE that movie! I cannot believe you can buy the infamous “leg lamp”! ROFL!!!
Hehehe — she’s way cool! Not silly at all.
Sometimes it is worth $50 to have a bit of silliness of your very own to keep!
I just purchased the of lady boudoir lamps. They looked so cute:)
What was I thinking!!! My husband isn’t going to like them on our dresser! I better find a good divorce attorney but I know what we won’t fight over “the lamps”LOL
