Impromptu trip to Disneyland!
Cashing in the coins to spend a couple of days out-and-about with our
children. My brother and his family will be there as well. Should be
big fun!
I think I’ve been only once before. I faintly remember climbing around in a big tree- house of sorts.
Anyhow, time to hang the hypothetical Closed sign for a couple of days. Be back online come Thursday.

Oh you will have a blast! I live in San Diego and the weather just turned cool, but should warm later…and that would be the Swiss Family Robinson treehouse…it’s SOOOO fun! You and the fam will have such a good time!!!

Great idea Bailey family!! I don’t know why we don’t go more often since it’s not really a bad drive over there (going to Legoland next month though!).
Oh, and the tree house has been converted to Tarzan’s treehouse. I was upset at first but now I like it! I hope you’ll share pictures (not all fisheye lens though!) when you get back!
Have a great time! I art directed events at Disneyland for years, it was my identity. I’m a purist, so I cannot set foot in the treehouse anymore myself, I used to love it as a kid though. Be sure to ride Haunted Mansion Holiday!
Nooooo! I have to know what’s in those boxes before you go! :o) Have a great time.
If you realise you have too much coins left, please let me know!!!
oh fab. It’s a great place, my boys love it! have a super time.
oh how fun!! I’m jelous. Have a great time
I fell in love with my husband the minute I heard that he worked as a ride operator at D’Land. Thirty-four years later, we still consider it the Happiest Place on Earth.
Have fun. Be happy.
Have a great time! That’s what our change jar is for as well – we’re going in March.
i’m headed there today suprisingly without the little ones! adults only trip! how fun is that. being a local and having a season pass has it’s perks! enjoy yourself. and ride the submarines!
yay! Have fun!
If you have little ones who can’t ride on the big rides, ask for a SWITCH PASS. It allows your hubby or you to go wait in line for the big ride, while the other goes with the little one to do a fun ride to kill the time. Then when the first person is done with the big ride, you meet them at the exit and get to go in immediatly to the big ride. Nice way for both parents to get to ride the big rides while keeping the little ones occupied.
How fun! Disney and the family that is the best! Post some pictures when you get back:)
There is also a little treehouse in the kid area, Chip and Dale’s house, but that probably came after your last trip.
Disneyland – my absolute FAVORITE place in the world! I am so jealous! Have fun!
Yes, the treehouse used to be Swiss family Robinson treehouse – it was awesome. But they’ve changed it to Tarzan’s; it’s still pretty great though. As is everything there! 😀
lucky you !!!!
enjoy !!
Heather, I think the big tree house kind of thing is not there anymore! I hope I’m wrong because you night so enjoy doing that again. I hope you have a fun time – it is the happiest place on earth!
And don’t forget to stop by Tom Saywer island. It’s been “Pirates of the Carribeanized” but it still has all the old tunnels and winding steps to explore. My husband and I had one of our first dates there. I was zooming through the tunnels exploring while my yet-to be-husband trailed behind me trying to keep up. But then I heard a thud followed by a groan. I turned back to find him holding his head in pain and saying “ow, ow, ow”. He’s a tall guy and hadn’t quite cleared one of the low arches. Poor guy. We still laugh about it and he now makes sure to bend over low in those tunnels. Have fun!!!
Impromptu to Disneyland! Yay! I’m sure it will be a great get away for the kids as well as for you! We’ll be in Disneyland this week too, but not until Friday! Have fun!
Oh Swiss Family Robinson treehouse is the best! I have memories of playing in it when I was a wee one- can’t wait to take my kiddos there!
Have fun! Waiting here to know what’s in the boxes too.
Disneyland scares me. I hate that place.
That is so funny, the last time I was at Disneyland I was probably 7 and I only faintly remember climbing in a treehouse with a big yellow net type thing you could climb on. I started up it and I got scared and stuck and I remember a cute boy who worked there had to come and get me. Oh, what memories of Disneyland for me… 🙂
Have a great time!!
Hope you had a great time.
My favorite place. Before we moved to Texas I lived just a 6 hour drive away. The year before we moved we went 6 times. It has been almost 2 years. I have never lasted that long between trips. I am starting to go a little nuts. Maybe in the spring.
Big tree house is the Swiss Family robinson House. When I lived in California we went at least twice a year haven’t been now in over 18 years,
Sounds like a wonderful time. Enjoy your family… 🙂
Cant wait to hear about your Disneyland trip. My parents took me there as a 12 year old. I loved it and thought I was the luckiest kid in Australia to have gone. Hope you had a great time.
Do you have time to play in Houston? Or are you and AM pulling an all-nighter everynight? Hope all is well. You know I am minutes from Disneyland…Gina

Grew up close to Disneyland and in High School we use to go to Friday night dances there. What fun – hope you had a great time with your family :-)!
I hope your trip was wonderful! I got a kick out of the visual picture of cashing in all of your coins. Last year I was at the bank and that’s exactly what a daddy and his little girl were doing! LOL!
I just posted a picture on my blog of a Turning Twenty quilt made using your wonderful fabrics!
Shoot, Gina, I didn’t realize you are right by Disney! Dang it. I want to come see you next time.
Hope Disneyworld was magical..you going to market???? Love all the goodies I see here…you are one amazing girl..Jen
