What do you do when your sweet sister’s in the hospital giving birth
and you’re anxiously awaiting the news? Assuming you’ve already worn a
hole in the floor from pacing, you can fiddle with your hair. Then,
when it’s finally time to go see the baby, your hair is all ready.
And that’s about how it went yesterday.
Introducing my newest little nephew, what’s-his-name, or as my dad
likes to call him, Ocho (the eighth grandbaby). He doesn’t have a name
yet, but isn’t he darling and perfect?
He
looks a lot like my little Elijah did when he was born, but for the
nose. And his little head feels like the inside of a rose petal —
velvety, velvety soft.
So, hooray and heaps of love for my sister Julia and her
husband Brent — well done! A perfect and sweet new baby boy to fight
over at family get-togethers.
I love him the most – me first!

Love your necklace and your sweet little nephew…Congrats to all and hope a name is picked soon!
he is absolutely perfect.
i love the way you described his head…so true.
He looks so adorable! Congratulations to your sister and her husband 🙂
Oh for preciousness! He is perfect. Enjoy the cuddles! Lovely description of a baby head. 🙂 So soft and velvety indeed. Now go get some snuggles! I bet Charlotte is smitten, too!
So Sweet… Babies are such blessings.
Congrats and God Bless to your family…
Oh, congratulations, Auntie! We sure could use a new baby in our family to fight over. As usual, you look very lovely.

The joy of a new nephew and to see your sister happy. Life’s just perfect sometimes!!! lol…
Congratulations Heather! And thanks for sharing such wonderful. I get so emotional around everything newborn-themed and this has reminded me of my babies births. Just unbelivable miracle!

please give us details on how you got your hair knotted like that. It looks gorgeous. of course it helps that you have amazingly thick, silky hair.

and, DUDE, i was just thinking last night how i need a hair cut…mine is halfway down my back and i can’t seem to do a thing with it. but that thing you did is amazing. lol.
I have a feeling in 20 years, Grandpa will still be referring to him as Ocho. LOL He is one of the sweetest boy babies I’ve ever seen – a pure darling.
Okay, the kid is gorgeous — of course. What I really want to know is how do you get your hair so healthy? Are you coloring it that beautiful shade? I love it! (I have similar brown hair, but it frankly never looks that shiny and healthy.)
That is one sweet baby! He’s a keeper!

Hi! I read your blog all the time and think that you are such a talented person! Congratualtions on your nephew. He is a sweet bundle of miraculous joy…!
I also am curious how you were able to get the “puff” design in your ponytail like that? It’s so beautiful…it kind of reminds me of a cluster of pomegranate seeds or cluster of flowers from hyacinth.
Please do tell how you did it…. 🙂
He’s lovely! Almost as lovely as mine who arrived on November 14…but I’m just a wee bit biased!
Just wanted to say thanks for all the pleasure working with your fabric brings me!
