I'm back from 'maternity leave.' I didn't intend to be away for a couple of weeks, but with family in town, my assistant moving into a new job, some replaced stitches, and the usual ruckus that accompanies a third baby, I needed the break. I'm a little behind on big announcements, so watch for new fabric, new patterns, and more.
I might need an iPad so I can blog with one hand while I feed the baby. He's a full-time job by himself these days. Of course, I take smooching his feathery head and peachy cheeks rather seriously. Has anyone tried an iPad for typing up posts? I'm excited to get back to it.

Oh Heather, I’m dying! I may have to check out that feathery head real soon (been a little under the weather and didn’t want to share it). Goodness!
Such a cutie! Wishing you and your beautiful family lots of happiness and health.
As for the iPad . . . I thought I’d use mine to post more often than I do but typing on it isn’t all that stellar for wordy women like us. If you do end up doing it, you might want to get the wireless keyboard to help you out.
I somehow missed the baby announcement post, sounds like you’re enjoying those newborn cuddles. Congrats!
Just keep posting baby photos, that is enough blog content for me! So, so sweet! I thought I would use my iPad more for blogging. It’s awesome for reading blogs, but harder to type up posts. I got a zagg keyboard and it has really helped, but I still prefer my iMac. Though if I had a sweet baby to snuggle on the couch while I wrote I might be more motivated to stick with the iPad.
I post from my iPhone a lot :). He’s wonderful!
🙂 Congratulations! That does look like a full-time snuggle job.
I still prefer typing on a regular keyboard. The ipad can be difficult getting used to – esp one handed!
I slept most of the time after my babies were born – for like 2 + years! lol! – so I can’t believe you are already back in the game! That’s amazing!
Hopefully he will continue to suck his thumb, because then in a couple of years – I can send you a thumb cover to help him quit! lol! I miss my girls sucking theirs – but it’s way cuter for babies than for 6 year olds!
Love the pics and can’t wait to see the new fabrics! I designed a Crab for the summer issue of Crafts ‘n things with your fabric (http://bit.ly/nyuT0U). If he doesn’t need a thumb cover – I’ll send you a crab! : )
Sweet, sweet baby – he definitely comes first!
What a sweet, sweet baby. I love his hair! Congratulations!
Kerry,I would LOVE to sleep for two years; I would need a sponsor for that though.
I love your crab doll, btw! Thanks for the link. Is the magazine still available?
What’s his name?
I’m totally content with the baby pictures 🙂 I’m sure that’s what my blog will be turning into 3 months from now!
So so cute! I’m glad you took time to settle in! I love my iPad but typing a long post probably would need a wireless keyboard to make it simpler.
You can post on your iPad but only on HTML setting. You wouldn’t be able to post your beautiful pictures onto your blog from it. It’s a bummer. Congrats on your beautiful baby boy. I am due next week. Also a baby boy.
He is so precious. Congratulations and be easy on yourself getting back into the swing of things. We, your adoring public, can wait.
I’ll sponsor you! lol! I was just so wiped out. My girls were only 19 months apart – it was exhausting but worth it!
You can get the back issue here…it was the August 2011 issue (http://bit.ly/mRQ0a0). I keep every original that was published for my girls…well – right now they are on a shelf. But someday they get to keep them.
If you can’t get it, I can email you a picture of the article! Just let me know! -kg
Congratulations! What a gorgeous little baby. Looks like you need to update your “about me” to include “mother of 3 amazing kids”
🙂
Feeding my five month old while typing on my iPad right now! It has been amazing for the first few months of nighttime feedings. I am getting pretty fast at the one hand typing, too! Hope the iPad works for you and your little guy!
Congratulations!!! Enjoy this time, it passes so quickly… Looking forward to all the new announcements, good that you are back!
aweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
take your time and be with your little one. Soak in every second!
Wha??? Who has a baby that cute? That is the coolest photo and I can’t believe you captured it so perfectly. Seriously devine.
He is just adorable!
Congratulations! He is adorable!
Good Luck getting anything done when he is awake! I only wanted to hold and kiss on them endlessly. Now I have 2 Darling Grands to smooch. Hugs all around.
Tell me about it, Carol. I can’t keep my hands off him and I can get about one smile a day out of him if I work real hard at it. He likes when I put my face about 6 inches away from his face. I got a goo once that way and almost melted.
Isaac
Your new baby is just absolutely adorable. My little girl used to suck her index finger also – it was so cute. Congratulations and hope everyone is sleeping through the night asap! 🙂
Cute little one.
There is a Typepad app, but it is not very robust and results at least for me in some wonky picture placements. I have not tried posting on the iPad from Safari.
Of course, typing itself is easy. Adding a picture I wanted was irritating.
I was thinking I could type out my thoughts on the iPad, then format the posts from my computer afterward (photos & such). I’m hoping to keep a daily family journal as well, so the typing would need to work out all right. If an iPad would do the trick, it would save me from dragging my work computer with me everywhere and risking its safety.
Isaac thinks I should get a MacBook Air instead because it has the built in keyboard. I’m not so sure. I could use an external keyboard with the iPad if I couldn’t stand to hunt-and-peck for letters. An iPad seems like more fun.
I used my iPad for blogging while in Europe for a month…never missed a post. I did it via email, which was best for the blogger platform, so inserted pictures and text into an email which I sent to my blogging post ID. I thought it worked out just fine. I did not mind the keyboard at all.
Pretty much the entire month of June was blogged this way.

I LOVE the iPad for it’s light weight!
Such a sweet boy! Can’t help you on the iPad front. I’m a keyboard gal myself. 🙂
Oh, he’s just delightful. Congratulations.
No advice on the iPad, but he is soo cute. Love his fingers.
Oh how sweet! I think he looks just like Charlotte!
Congratulations Heather on your beautiful boy. He is just gorgeous and well done for beating the c-section date.
My iPad is the best thing I have ever owed. Buy one now…..xxx
The iPad is a lot of fun, and will keep you busy while nursing but I don’t think it would make blogging enjoyable. I use mine for reading blogs, emails, news etc but if I need to post something I typically sit down at my laptop. If hubby wants to get you a MacBook air I would take him up on that!
I’ve found the ipad to be a serious addiction, but very little help with any typing. Unless you’re really good at “hovering” hands, it’s hard to keep typing clean–I really have to rest my hands in the key positions, and you can’t do that with an ipad.
Your little one is lovely . . . can’t wait for more.
Oh wow! What a sweet baby. I would just sit and stare at that face all day. I miss the baby smell and soft silky skin. Congratulations!
Congrats… he’s a beauty!
Congratulations!! He’s so sweet!! Enjoy him! 🙂
Who can resist him?
What a doll, he’s adorable. Congratulations. I won’t be any help on the iPad topic but goodness gracious you have a cutie on your hands.
