10,000 Points

Such a great week!  We had Laura with us for four days, kids
included (Luke & Lily below).  We hit the best antique stores & boutiques, my favorite new grocery
store
(a few times) for gelato & aisle-coursing entertainment, and
we ate out more than we ate in. Whoa.

Looloo

I scored 6+ yards of vintage flaming-orange fabric, now destined for
a bedskirt in my yet-to-be-decorated bedroom.  Got an old donut-maker
tool too – in a cool paperboard box (that Charlotte later tore to
shreds). Then more vintage buttons, a hand-knit yellow baby sweater, a
bizarre basket purse, and a cool leafed table with a green &
orange metal top.  I promise to show all at some point.  The donut-maker
definitely fits into this month’s theme (a theme which will have to
extend well into April as I didn’t expect my Chicago trip, Elijah’s
Spring Break, and an Easter week with Laura to be such wonderful
distractions).

On
Tuesday, Isaac took Charlotte & Lily out for an all-day girl-extravaganza.  Lily practically bubbled out of her skin to tell us all

  7. What a couple of cute Princess Cousins! Yay Isaac!
We’re loving that store too. A lot. Their oatmeal cranberry cookies…yum!

  8. Hey, I’ve seen that little grocery store! It’s just down the street from my parents… well, kinda. I wonder if they have them in CA, because the Whole Foods market is here in spades! *B

  9. I can’t believe the first mention I see of Tesco’s efforts to spread to the US is via your blog. Following your barometer of taste, I think they’ll do very well.

  10. Is 30 to old for a girly day?
I have 2 little girls (4 years) and they would have been in heaven to spend a day like that!

  11. I just wanted you to know how much I love your blog. I am 12 and I have a business making handmade jewelry. I just started a site on ETSY and a blog about my work. I love checking out your blog and looking at all the pictures. I’ll be back for more inspiration. Cambria
P.S. I’m adding your blog to my favorite blog list.

  13. Heather, Just wanted to say that I loved your article in Home Companion. I loved all the colors. I have a question. The lime green chandelier that is in one of the pics…was that originally black? I bought one from Lowes and it is one of my fave things in my home. Just curious. They look the same except for the color.

  14. Holy cow, what a great day! If I dare read this to Miss B, she’s bound to sign up or find the next bus to Arizona to do so. Sounds like great girl fun for adults and children alike. And as per usual, beautiful photos!

  15. A perfect day, no question about it. I’m adding you to my fortune cookies right now. I want to be able to return often so that I can read more. You have such great fun!

  16. hooray…I am loving the girls day out with dad!! I hope to have some of those in my future =) I dig the way you journaled it out..years from now your girls will like to look back at it…plus the photos. Thanks for sharing!

  17. Every time I visit your blog you have the most wonderful photos (your’s and your husband’s). So I’ve decided I definitely need to marry a photographer so I can have as many wonderful and full-of-pure-color photos. 🙂 You certainly have a wonderful family and your creativity is truly an inspiration!

  18. Today I just stopped by your blog from my nieces blog (she has you as a favorite) and as I read I was wondering where you were from and then I saw the “Glitter Box” mentioned. Aha then I knew. I just returned from AZ to visit my son and his family. (My grandaughter is the tallish brunette little girl in the Glitter Box ads.)
I am inspired by the beautiful colors on your blog and in your work. I wonder if beautiful AZ is where you get some of that inspiration. I was smitten by Arizona last week and now it is just a lovely memory. Thanks for letting me stop by.

  19. Okay, so I just saw your topiaries on my friend Kate’s page and I ADORE them! She then directed me to you. I of course, perused your brilliant page (you are a designer through and through…I promise everything you touch turns into craft genius)! Then I noticed that you are married to Isaac. THE Isaac Bailey!?! He is AMAZING! He was the photographer for my cousin Rachel Williams’ wedding (Rachel and Zach) and I could have CRIED for a week that I didn’t use him for my wedding (after seeing how GORGEOUS Rachel’s pictures turned out). Although I don’t think I honestly could afford him 🙂
Okay, so just wanted to say that I am SO glad Isaac married a creative genius b/c he is just charming and darling and his photography is phenomenal. Wow, so pretty much, I am acting like some psycho stalker and you are afraid of me! haha…just an admirer, really, truly.

  20. Wow, Can your Husband lead a retreat on this subject! I’m sure all of us wives would pay for the set up and our Husbands to attend……what memories he created!!!
It is always a treat to check in on your blog, Heather!
Well, my shop is having a great Spring sell and Hatti is almost finished beign made! I hope you can hop on over and take a look…

  21. That outline is hilarious. 🙂 Sounds like a great day… Some men like Isaac are just really exceptionally great at being daddies to little girls. My daughter is not 2 yet, but I can see my husband being the kind of dad who would spend and entire day hitting all the uber-girly hotspots like that. So cute.

  22. Right on fun day! I bet you slept well after!
I’ll pray for peace for you and your family with all that is going on.
    Have a blessed day,
    Terisa

  23. I’m wondering what and where are your favorite antique stores? I live in AZ and am always trying to find new places with cool stuff…
